Please carefully read the following paragraph. When reading it, the first objective isn’t to judge whether the paragraph makes a good point or a true point. Rather, the objective is to understand what the point itself actually is. Only then can we evaluate whether it is a good point.

After reading the paragraph, choose the sentence that best represents the point of the paragraph.

Tonight, President Trump said the word ‘America’ more than 80 times in his speech. Yet, after a divisive first year, we hear and feel how exclusionary that ‘America’ is, with policies that have harmed so many vulnerable American communities. The ACLU stands ready to protect these communities, both in the courts and at the polls.

  1. The author detests patriots that want to be excited and patriotic about their country.
  2. The author is upset that President Trump used the word ‘America’ more than 80 times in his speech.
  3. The author believes truly American communities have been harmed by being labeled ‘American.’
  4. The author believes that President Trump’s policies have been exclusionary and have harmed some American communities
  5. None of the above.

I bet those so-called "liberals" heard the old saying about scoundrels wrapping themselves in the flag and were picturing Trump wearing a frilly lace teddy underneath. That goes to show how they have no patriotic appreciation for the fact that Trump was trying to dress enticingly for the part and it was not his fault that he had one cheeseburger too many.

It's not like he got mustard on the flag.

Brilliant.

Interesting that liberal now refers to someone who knew that chanting, "We're number 1!" at a high school pep rally had zero bearing on reality.

Serious answer and speaking only for myself, I don't care for hype. Hype is wasted energy your enemies use to beat you. Introspection combined with a willingness to pursue improvement and disciplined action aren't compatible with hype. Hype is for people who are losing but can't do what is needed to win.

Some people derive sexual excitement from having someone else crap on their face, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. That seems relatively self-evident.

So all you Americans who are excited about the current state of America shouldn't be all that surprised the rest of us don't like to be shat on.

Hey LDSbaqs, can you please give us your reasons for claiming that the united states is the "greatest country on the planet"? Im curious why you think this as claims like yours seem to most often come from people who have never actually been outside the united states and are primarily informed by right wing media.

How about your top 3 reasons. Here is your template :

The United States is "the greatest country on the planet" because:

1 -
2 -
3 -

This OP by Bach hit all the benchmarks of a sober ldsfaqs post:

This loser gets a paycheck and an eventual pension for criticizing those that will put far more on the line for his students than he will ever! And what’s even more disgusting is his rationale as to why these brave men and women put their life on the line. He would have you believe it’s “because they couldn’t make it, couldn’t do anything else with their lives”

He exemplifies liberalism at its best and as taught in our schools today and it’s dangerous to say the least, disgusting to say the most.

But here is the real irony: This loser is attempting to humiliate these young men and women using his very own ability flaw!!!! “Those who can ‘do’ —- Those who can’t ‘teach’ “!!!! He is the living example of that he wishes to embarrass as our American heroes who actually put something on the line other than the lack of any ability and ambition that goes along with “four months off in the summer”!

If nothing else - this board should contact reach out to this loser and make him a full time poster here. No doubt he has the the same motivated lack of direction as the rest and no doubt the time!!!

No doubt he could be a star here!!!

He's let his hand slip a few too many times in the Bach character to not notice. I think he's even alluded to posting as Bach to get around his ban.

Also, the I'm-totally-a-businessman routine is, lol, right up Lee's alley.
