Seth Shostak predicts that we are going to find ET withing 20 years. I hope it is the case because I really want to know the answer to the "Are we alone" question. Shostak also talks about how intelligent civilizations in the Milky Way know that our planet has life.

It is an educated guess, but SETI is doing a lot of progress.
