Honor, Humiliation and Respect ...

Post by _Bach »

...truly a week we will never forget and so honored to be there.

We were blessed this past week to share in, for our family, a part of American history, and honoring such history, that we can never expect to duplicate.

And it was only because my daughter became and is great friends w GB43’s daughter while they both attended UT.

Wife and family made the trip to DC and were so thrilled to get a line pass to stand in rotunda in honor of a great man. Nothing special about access but so humbling in standing with so many great Americans honoring a great man. On one hand, felt so out of place with several we met, and yet felt so comfortable meeting and talking w all those who travelled as far as we did just to be there! Definitely a reunion for a special gentleman and with a special generation for me. Was so honored to meet Jim Baker that day and shake his hand. Owe so much to my daughter for arranging.

But the highlight for me was the invite and attendance for my daughter at yesterday’s funeral in Houston. I was so jealous but so proud that she will have that to remember the rest of her life. Can’t think of a polical family who has demonstrated more class, service or humility as a standard to our country.

[and while I know I haven’t violated any rules - I suspect there will be something that will prevent this post about a great experience/event from being allowed here]
