Trump Press Conference (Jan 9)
What is the over-under on whether Trump declares state of emergency on the border tonight?

The depth and scope of Trump's lies are unprecedented and not something that can be equated to the lazy cliché that politicians lie. This address is likely to contain extensive dishonest claims in the service of manufacturing the perception of a crisis that does not exist.subgenius wrote:gee, EAllusion how insightful of you...I never would guess that a politician might lie....so impressed with your insight....got any of the superior intellect leftover to comment on the actual OP?
Do you have any tool in your belt besides false equivalence? You've been trolling for a decade with virtually no improvement despite all the practice. It's sad.

I had thought that networks might decide not to broadcast this, they've certainly got the precedent from the Obama years. That they have chosen to air it while also broadcasting the rebuttal by Pelosi and Schumer (at least a few are) will probably just do a great job at framing it as Republican vs Democrat, as opposed to the more accurate fiction vs reality. Can't appear biased though, plus it sells... so that's cool.EAllusion wrote:The depth and scope of Trump's lies are unprecedented and not something that can be equated to the lazy cliché that politicians lie. The speech is scheduled for eight minutes. Any guesses at how many lies he can spout in 8 minutes? I’d suggest a drinking game, but I’m concerned about alcohol poisoning.

I thought the reason Trump got elected is because he wasn't a politician. The people were tired of politicians because they lie?

Just drink in the parking lot of the local ER. Keep your cell phone at the ready.

That's what I thought too! So then the most prolific and brazen pathological liar in history gets elected because people are tired of politicians lying to them?
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
