When I start a thread, I often post stuff.
But now I don't think I need to do that. The topic for the term paper is "Trump has folded under pressure after trying to face down Nancy Pelosi and the new Democratic House, Discuss."

OK can't resist:
Lindsey Graham

Hope Congress - in a bipartisan fashion - will work with the President and take advantage of this moment.
Last best chance to take a major step toward fixing broken borders and a broken immigration system.
Thank you Mr. President.
Let’s make this a win-win for America!

"He’s not going to sign a bill that doesn’t have money for the wall... if he gives in now, that’s the end of 2019 in terms of him being an effective president. That’s probably the end of his presidency."

I think the president was just demonstrating that he's serious about getting the wall built, and to demonstrate the lengths to which Democrats are willing to go to keep the border open and the flow of illegal immigrants unimpeded. He's got other options to make it happen.

I’m curious, Ajax: what exactly do you mean when you say “the wall.” How long? What’s it made of? How tall is it?

It's a lot easier for the next Democratic president to just come in and tell ICE, "Don't deport anyone unless they're guilty of a criminal offense." This assumes that Anastasia Ocasio Cortez isn't elected and ICE is abolished. Tearing down the wall would be more difficult.

No answer to the question, then.

Dude, now you’ve got me worried that you’re a bot. Did you post this in the wrong place?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's problem with ICE is legit. They deported the wife of a Iraq Veteran and then they detained a military translator because they thought he was illegal, they trap people for showing up an funerals and hospitals and they regularly detain Americans they mistake for illegal aliens which is a violation of Civil Rights. In many ways it is the Gestapo of America and there is hardly any repercussion or oversight in the way they treat people. They're also very immoral people who spend time kicking over water supplies in the desert because dead immigrants are better than no immigrants, amirite Ajax?
