When a tale of fiction wags the dog of reality

Trump has claimed that prayer rugs have been found where people cross the border illegally. Women, bound in duct tape, are being smuggled across the border in ultra-fast vehicles which elude capture from the border patrol.
There is no evidence to suggest this is happening in reality. Where it did happen was Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

Border agents are now being told to hunt for any instances where they have found duct tape or prayer rugs in the desert. The efforts of U.S. border agents are to provide evidence that occurred in a movie. It's as if Trump saw
Red Dawn and decided to dispatch troops to the border to stop Cubans from invading the United States.
This is bat-guano crazy.

I’m left wondering why the terrorists are deciding to haul around and then dispose of
single-use prayer rugs.
On the other hand, won’t it be easy to spot these evildoers by merely keeping an eye out for brown folks near the border that are carrying armfuls of disposable prayer rugs?

The concept of a disposable prayer-mat seems to be unIslamic:
Ask The Imam692 If you have an old or torn Masala (pray mat), can you throw it away in the bin with normal rubbish?
It is recommended to bury the old Prayer Mat instead of disposing it in normal rubbish, since it was used in praying. Also a lot of prayer mats contain pictures of Masjid or Holy Kaaba and hence it would be disrespectful to throw such items into the rubbish.
['Aalim Network QR] Disposing Off An Old Prayer Mat"'Aalim" means 'scholar' from the Arabic word for 'knowledge'.
QUESTION:
I have been using a Mussallah for a long time. Now it is so worn down that
I think it needs rest. I would like you to tell me how I can get rid of it
in a very Islamic way.
There are no arabic inscriptions on the prayer mat. From what I can make
out there is a picture of some mosque and next to it is the Kaaba. The
borders are decorated with some designed lines..There are no names
whatsoever.
ANSWER:
The Islamic perspective indicates that things which are sacred and holy are
to be treated with great respect.
In order to preserve the sanctity of and not to exhibit disrespect to the
Ka'ba, it is better to dispose the musallah in a way which would not show
any contempt or violate it's sanctity e.g by burying it in the ground.
And Allah knows best.

In other factual news about the border, here's a recent tweet:
On January 29th, Trump wrote:We are not even into February and the cost of illegal immigration so far this year is $18,959,495,168. Cost Friday was $603,331,392. There are at least 25,772,342 illegal aliens, not the 11,000,000 that have been reported for years, in our Country. So ridiculous! DHS
My favorite line is:
Cost Friday was $603,331,392. You have to hand it the Administration: They can't keep track of detained children, we're in the middle of a Government shutdown, and yet the President knows down to the
final dollar how much illegal immigration cost us on Friday.
The White House has not responded to a request asking the source of the President's information. Perhaps the statistics were gathered by the Political Science Department of Trump University.

Lol. It’s all total BS, and his Base will swallow it hook, line and sinker.
