It isn't like being physically attacked by Trump supporters should shock anyone. It is so common that the alleged incident itself didn't merit as much media attention as the plot to stage it.

I love how Bach takes some obscure example from an obscure actor and calls him "THE LEFT" and then implies that examples of these incidents by "THE LEFT" are so frequent that he can sarcastically pretend to be "shocked."

Meanwhile, these kinds of orchestrated fake news type incidents are standard procedure at Brietbart and FOX News a la O'Keefe.

That's pretty much what everyone who doesn't watch Empire said, and precisely why his attack claim was so bizarre. The idea that someone would recognize a D-list celebrity walking around Chicago at 2 in the morning in subzero temperatures (and would be prepared with a noose and a bottle of bleach) was pretty preposterous.

However, in the wake of the attack, many celebrities and politicians rushed to condemn the attack and pin the attack on Trump and his rhetoric.

So, this case will now be used by the Right to suggest most hate crimes are hoaxes that don't really exist.

Well. It doesn't help the national consciousness when fake hate crimes are committed, reported widely as the truth, and when discovered to be a hoax garner much less coverage:
