What would the world be saying if a white kid physically intimidated a smaller black kid, tore a HOPE flag out of his hands, verbally abused him, and knocked an Obama logo hat of his head? I'm not really sure, but I guaran-fucking-tee you'd know about and it'd dominate the news cycle for days. And the white kid would be severely punished by the school and society at large.

I think this kind of hate being sanctioned through indifference will probably lead to violence. :/

Both are students. It was some kind of dress up or costume day at the school.

Sure. Even in the South, every single time a white kid has picked on a black kid it's been national news, dominating the news cycles for days. It's been that way since at least 1957.

If you believe in reverse racism or complain about black on white crime you're a racist, deserving to be octracized and limited in your career and employment opportunities. They call this social justice. Either follow the narrative or suffer character assasination.

Well, I'm just pointing out how we need to pull back from the rhetoric that leads to this kind of behavior, and I hope we do so before widespread violence occurs. The problem with grievances is that they're recursive and once someone gets violent a new grudge is created and, as people do, they tend not to let it go without seeking retribution.

I'd rather see debate and ideas win or lose in an exchange of words rather than fists.

No ajax, you are a raciest because you have said a number of obvious raciest statements and beliefs. Your racism is also apparent in this situation in which you assume racism as the motivation for the 18 year old student's attack on the other student. While the 18 year old may be raciest towards white people, the video doesn't provide any evidence to support this. It's obvious he is upset about the other student wearing a cape and hat in support of Trump.

The 18 year old student has been given a summons to court. They will try for a meeting between the two sides to see if they can work something out, and if not, the student will likely be charged with assault. The older student certainly was way out of line and committed assault, but hopefully something can be worked out to avoid the courts and maybe help the older student to learn to think and behave better.

I seem to recall a white Trumper at the rally who sucker punched a black guy who was leaving peacefully. A black kid rips away some political paraphernalia from a white kid, and suddenly it is about race not politics, and all things are equal again? Are you suggesting white kids don't do these things?
