Why are the border-crossers in the back holding lightsabers?

I have noticed that (weirdly ...) Trump appears to be addressing his prayers to a small baby doll on the ground in front of him.

Can someone make sense of this?

Yes. It was dropped by the child of an illegal family as they were being loaded into an ICE van, and Trump is fretting over someone needing to come pick it up and toss it, because it’s icky.

Those are putters, glinting in the sunlight of opportunity.

Those folks are crossing over one of Trump’s golf properties on the way to his employment office.

He has mistaken it for the baby Jesus and he thinks one of the cameramen from Fox News is recording him.

Why are the border-crossers in the back holding lightsabers?

They are illegal aliens from a galaxy far far away, perhaps from Oliblish or Kolob.

Chap,

The propaganda spiel I have heard is that people who try to cross the border with children are irresponsibly endangering the children. The wall is suppose to protect the children from their parents irresponsibility. In the picture Trump is expressing his deep compassion for the children.

... and showing about as much action as he’s willing to commit to their plight - i.e., merely pretending to care.

That’ll be all that’s required to assuage the souls and conscience of many Christian Trump supporters, in much the same way that they want to believe Trump to be an actual member of their tribe.
