Well, what he said was:
In the three-hour disposition, Jones said that "the public doesn’t believe what they’re told anymore" because of corruption in the government and the "mainstream media."
"And I, myself, have almost had like a form of psychosis back in the past where I basically thought everything was staged, even though I’m now learning a lot of times things aren’t staged," Jones said.
He did not follow up his assertion with information on where he may have been evaluated or diagnosed with a psychosis.
Jones also said that the "trauma" of the media "lying so much" caused him to distrust everything.
'Almost had like a form of psychosis' - note the triple modalisation of 'psychosis':
'Almost'
'like'
'a form of'
Any one of those on its own walks back any claim of an actual diagnosis of the mental illness called a 'psychosis'. It's almost like a form of referring to a possible defence that Jones had come up with, despite the fact that his lawyers had subsequently made it plain to him that it was utterly dumb, and he had better not try it on in court.

It's funny, but what he's trying to argue is that he had been so thoroughly gaslit by the lies of the "elite" that he had trouble distinguishing reality from fiction in mainstream reporting.
More accurately, his grift is conspiracy theories.

There’s an episode of “This American Life” that interviews a lot of Jones’ former teachers, coaches, and classmates. The most incredible part of the episode, is that after having all of these people tell about how they know Alex Jones is completely full of crap based on personal experience, the second they hear that Trump is a fan of him, they waffle and start going with variations of “well, I mean, he’s probably right about a lot of stuff, and doesn’t necessarily lie like he used to…”

Does wandering around with a cell phone in a restaurant trying to start a fight mean he is all better now?"
