I guess it's another reason for me to be grateful I live in a red state. It has certainly worked out better for me than in years past.

To be clear, you're ok with 10 million families paying more taxes and you're ok that Trump lied about it.

ajax, like Trump, only cares about other nut cases. He doesn't care about all Americans.

Here's the notoriously Conservative website, CNN weighing in on the tax cuts:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/13/politics ... index.html

Winning: Most US taxpayers

The vast majority of American tax filers -- more than 65% -- will see their overall tax burden decrease by at least $100, according to the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. See page 7 of this helpful analysis.

Slightly less than 30% of filers will see very little change in their tax liability and a small percentage, about 6%, will see an increase

I paid about $200 less this year when I filed.

Let's remember - since the usual suspects keep missing the point and dragging us all down a red herring vortex - that Trump promised his tax cut would benefit EVERYONE, and in fact save average Americans $4,000.

Trump claims his tax plan would save average Americans $4,000

"What would your family do w/ a $4,000 raise from the President’s tax cut plan? " - Sarah Sanders ; 6:13 PM - 22 Oct 2017

This means ten million families were lied to. I wonder if they'll care about that come 2020.

For comparison, about 4.7 million Americans were notified they could not keep their insurance under the ACA when it went into effect. Obama's promise people could keep their insurance was an albatross around his neck the rest of his presidency. I suspect the same here.

Perhaps for you Honor but I don't remember it being an albatross around Obama's neck for any of the true believers here. Did anyone even mention this at the time other than Hannity?

When Markk complained of his taxes being very high during Obama's presidency Kevin replied, "Too bad, the government needs the money from somewhere and this is your fair share." Kevin and Schmo do not care any more about working class Americans than I care about people on welfare and disability.

That being said I think a big part of the change has been a heavier burden born by people in blue states with high state income taxes versus red states with little or no state income taxes. I agreed with that part of the article.

When I say it was an albatross around his neck, I mean it was politically damaging and used against him. Personally, when he said it I thought it was an uncharacteristic misstep because of it's absolute nature. If history should teach a new US President anything, it's that superlatives will end up biting them in the ass because nothing happens in the US that is good for everyone all the time. But setting that aside, most people who viewed him favorably did as you are doing with Trump's lie about taxes going down for everyone - excusing it. It was a boneheaded statement on Trump's part, with the distinction being it isn't the most boneheaded. Not by a longshot. But he'll have it come back to haunt him in 2020, almost certainly. And anyone who may have paid less taxes but had to pay on this coming Monday because of deduction changes will only remember that they had to pay the Government on tax day rather than getting the refund they anticipated even though they may have paid less over the course of 2018.

Politics.

When Markk complained of his taxes being very high during Obama's presidency Kevin replied, "Too bad, the government needs the money from somewhere and this is your fair share." Kevin and Schmo do not care any more about working class Americans than I care about people on welfare and disability.

I suspect that Schmo and Kevin both have concern for working class Americans as well as people on welfare and disability. I suspect that they are much closer to most people in having concern for working class people than Trump or those who will actually come out ahead under the tax law changes in the long run. Not being talked about in this thread? The biggest winners weren't people but corporations. Oh, yeah, the plutocracy convinced people on the right corporations ARE people. So, unless you are a corporation, you should probably find more common cause with all of the people of the non-corporate variety. Cuz we're all being screwed over to support those fools who aren't even people, except we're supposed to act like they are.

Are you really this damned stupid? Hannity wasn't the first or only person to bring this up the entire Liberal media pounced on it for months on end. Even politifact, which according to Right Wing idiots is just a Liberal rag, gave it the "lie of the year award."

Here is NPR talking about it: https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way ... f-the-year

When Markk complained of his taxes being very high during Obama's presidency Kevin replied, "Too bad, the government needs the money from somewhere and this is your fair share."

Markk was lying about his taxes and his income as many pretenders do on this forum.

Kevin and Schmo do not care any more about working class Americans than I care about people on welfare and disability.

You don't care about anyone who isn't white. We already know this. But the fact that taxes went up significantly under Trump's plan for 10 million working families is proof that you nor Trump care about anyone but the uber wealthy, as they are the only class to even get a "guaranteed" tax cut with Republican tax plans.

That being said I think a big part of the change has been a heavier burden born by people in blue states with high state income taxes versus red states with little or no state income taxes. I agreed with that part of the article.

Yes, Trump acts like a vindictive prick and a tyrant for constantly trying to punish his perceived political foes, even the American citizens simply because their state didn't vote for him. But by targeting Blue states he is undoubtedly punishing Republicans who live there as well.
