1. In fact BOTH Trump and the WHO announced the Seriousnous of the virus the SAME DAY.
2. Trump banned China Travel while the WHO said it wasn't necessary to ban Travel, and Leftist Media was calling Trump a "Racist" for doing so.

This radio guy makes the same error all the Trump apologists are making. If the WHO is really that bad, a bunch of dumb liberals, and China is evil and self-serving, then the presidency's error is significantly greater. The WHO being dumb liberals isn't anything new, right? Did you just recently figure out WHO were a bunch of liberals, faqs? China isn't only self-serving, but a top candidate for starting pandemics, right? So the correct response would have been to significantly increase preparedness at home knowing that you can't trust China to be honest, and you can't trust the WHO to cover the problem. And it's worse, because Obama's pandemic preparedness was about a C+, but Trump comes in and in his "down with Obama" campaign promise to you nut jobs, he destroys the beginnings of the little we had going for us.

We've had nearly 4 years of prosperity to prepare, but medical stockpiles were left to dwindle and organizational 'fat' was cut within the CDC to give the ultra-rich who don't care about faqs or Ajax tax cuts. But it's not just about saving money, a bigger issue is the administration's anti-Science bent. Presidential medal of honor winner, Rush Limbaugh, the last I checked doesn't believe this is anything serious, hospital reports are exaggerated and the "models" that forecast viruses stem from the lie of climate science. So we know exactly where Trump was right up until he simply couldn't hold out any longer.

South Korea kicked ass because they had dealt with MERS the hard way, created a pandemic response team, and actually had a plan. We dealt with Ebola the hard way, created a pandemic response team, and then said, "screw it" and hoped that growing bank accounts of the Rich would fix all our problems in a trickle-down.

And so what play Trump made last Tuesday or the day before is all kind of moot, as he's flying totally by the seat of his pants and just guessing. Some guesses have been okay considering, others have sucked, and his mantra of daily lying has made it very difficult for state governments and probably outweighs any decent calls.

What's incredible, although not surprising, is that when Trump said during elections that he could walk into the street and shoot somebody, and his base would love him all the more, he didn't realize that each of his base were desperate to glorify themselves by being the guy in the street getting shot.

Besides the China travel ban turning out to be a poorly implemented sieve, the fact that Europe was a substantial source of corona virus transmission to the US, and the fact that there was community spread in the US before the travel ban* was announced and took effect - besides all that - if you're gonna hang your hat on that, doesn't it bother you in the slightest bit that it clearly didn't work?

While your busy bragging that no one but Trump would've taken such decisive, bold action to stop the virus, doesn't it occur to you for like a second that it didn't work?

It's tempting to try to explain in painful detail all the actions the executive branch could've been doing that they didn't, despite numerous warnings to do so no less, or run down all the counter-productive things Donald Trump himself was (and is) doing that were massive news within the memory of a goldfish. But, even on your own terms, have you looked outside lately? Would you say the quasi-travel ban specifically on China was effective in preventing a deadly epidemic in the US? Yes or no?

It's okay to point out the mistakes someone else has made. But Xi, WHO, CDC and Trump each has the power to change their behavior. That begins with facing up to the mistakes you've made. And because Trump has a 3rd degree black belt in narcissism, he never acknowledges his own mistakes, which are the only mistakes that he can directly control.

Donald Trump's vision is always blinded by the beams of hubris and narcissism that he refuses to remove from his own eye. That is a far greater danger to American's health and safety than the World Health Organization.

You're being sarcastic, Ajax, but it is indeed still the case that global warming remains a pressing issue with an alarmingly short amount of time to act. This fiasco of a response to coronavirus is like a sped-up version of what's been happening with global warming, only the consequences for global warming not being adequately addressed are ultimately more severe.
