I wasn't blaming you for anything. I did own it. I said I was impersonating you. That's not avoiding any kind of responsibility.

In fact, at the time it was happening, I was acutely aware I was being hyper-literal, on purpose. It's something humans do sometimes for comedic effect (in this case, self-amusement). The key, however, is understanding when you are and aren't interpreting things in an overly literal way. It's important to recognize when others are using expressions, metaphors, or some other form of symbolism.

So in this case, I knew exactly what Jersey Girl meant by "real men" and decided to ignore that in favor of a more literal interpretation, just to amuse myself and to make a small remark about the validity of gay men. This was all me. I own it.

If I thought you knew or could control when you were being hyper-literal, I'd never have said anything about it, but it's a pretty noticeable aspect of your posting history. And to be clear, there are far worse faults. I'm mostly amused by it.
