How long before our first climate change lockdown?
About the same time Jade Helm 15 is finally fully realized and you are herded into a FEMA camp...
This reminds me of the first time I truly grasped the power of media and misinformation. Back in the 90’s a buddy and I had a little radio gig we did for fun on Fort Irwin when we weren’t doing Army stuff. We came up with the idea to do a psyop against “Blue Forces” as they came into Post and prepared for war games. We were granted permission by the Opposing Force (our side) Commander to antagonize the Blufor cdr and his staff.

So, we set about broadcasting “news reports” about the Blufor cdr that were pretty ridiculous. For example, we would play a helicopter track and then pretend we were flying over their cantonment area and say things like, “WE NOW SEE THE BLUFOR CDR EXITING HIS HUMVEE, AND … AND … IS THAT A WOOBIE? OH, WOW. THE BLUFOR CDR HAS AN ACTUAL WOOBIE IN HIS HANDS. HE HAS A WOOBIE, FOLKS. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT AN AMERICAN CDR WOULD CARRY AROUND A WOOBIE AND, WAITAMINUTE, IS HE SUCKING HIS THUMB?” And so on. You wouldn’t believe how effective that was, to get inside the mind of a cdr. Our cdr got a few angry phone calls from blufor cdrs, but he loved it. He said that any time they spend thinking about our show and being angry is less time he’s spending getting ready for the upcoming exercises. He thought those were valuable lessons for everyone to learn.

The level of obliviousness by the public with regard to to foreign influence exerted on us via social media is bananas. The level of effectiveness is beyond anything anyone could imagine. Russia literally printed their gameplan with regard to their geopolitical goals, and we still took, and take, few countermeasures. If there is to be an undoing of Pax Americana, it’s due to our own complacency brought about by our addiction to bread and circus.

Your psyop sounds like pure comedy gold. A cdr ought to know better than to let that shake him. Like you said, a valuable lesson to all. Has the cdr never heard of Tokyo Rose? People are always trying to mess with the clarity of the enemy's thinking.

As to the other point, just tonight on Fox News Tucker "I was born rich and never worked a day in my life" Carlson suggested that we just sit back and watch Russia steamroll Ukraine. Vladmir Putin once said the collapse of the Soviet Union was the biggest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century. I guess we should just let them take all those countries back.

That’s a good question. We burned through all our influence on Iraq and Afghanistan. I’m also at about 0% enthusiasm to kill more Americans and spend trillions on another crap hole country that’d be Afghanistan 2.0. If we do engage Russia in Ukraine it’ll have to be by proxy and very asymmetrical in nature.

A legitimate question. I don't really have a good answer to it, but our political leaders and their international counterparts should. That's kinda their job.

The US and Russia have no real desire to go head to head in a real war. Hence all the proxy wars. I don't think proxy war is a good solution, but I don't think sitting back and doing nothing is an option either.

Edit: I also want you to think about this. If I were to tell you 30 years ago that Republicans would end up becoming a party of Russian apologists headed by a man that received "love letters" from the head of the DPRK you would have found it laughable. Yet here we are.

Yes, that’s his new thing. At the risk of derailing the thread a bit, I’ll leave this here for your viewing pleasure, from about a month ago:

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/tucker-carl ... r-ukraine/

The article is entitled: ‘You Need a Little Education’: GOP Congressman and Tucker Carlson Go at It in FIERY Clash on Russia. There’s a link within to watch the exchange.

I participated in the derail (as noted) and will split the thread off in a bit, unless Chap specifically states that there’s no need.

If I told you 20 years ago that in the future conservatives would be in favor of letting Russia steamroll Ukraine you would not have have believed me.
