Howz about a little pop quiz?

Single story house. Dimensions - 30' x 60', 2' overhangs, Gabled on the short side. 7/12 roof pitch.

1. How many square of roofing does one order?

2. What is the measurement from the top plate to the ridge?

3. On the roof load delivery comes a few units of 'synthetic' and some sticks of 1" x 3". What do you do with them?

4. How does an experienced builder note down to himself the measurement - six foot six and seven sixteenths?

Why are you making up crap?

How the hell would anyone even begin to know who your suppliers are and how would you know if they were? Did you disclose your exact location? Your name? If so, then calling up suppliers is superfluous. What, are they expecting your suppliers to confirm you're the same "Mike" who is posting on an obscure Mormon related forum?

All you're doing here is making this guy feel like he's important. In reality he's stalling for time to answer your questions because he probably isn't even a roofer. I mean, of all the professions to lie about...

No, wasn't me. Prob a repo man. I hear those guys down at Harbor freight can get pretty inventive when trying to get their tools back. I can totally see though what you're getting at. How hard could it be to call every supply yard in the country and ask them if they know a roofer named Mike.

Anyway, are you making any progress on your google search for what 7/12 means. Here's a hint; first number is rise, second is run.

And here's the point that makes his claim so ridiculous.

I know, right. I'm guessing he thinks roofers have an image of being bad-asses. I'd wager he also has a 'Raiders Nation' logo on his 'Harley' T-shirt. Truth be told, roofers are considered to be just one step above insulators, and one step below board hangers.
