New York City has a vaccine mandate and they have a mask mandate and yet they're still seeing a massive spike in the Omicron variant. So why are we seeing people freak out about a disease that has an extremly low death rate and is so contagious that you're not going to be able to stop the spread of it? So why are we doing this stuff and why are we trying to freak everybody out? What is the evidence that we should be freaking out? The measures being taken now have repeatedly failed to stop the spread all over the world. There are people that are triple vaxxed who have gotten Omicron. You are not going to be able to shut down the virus with boosters. In Israel everyone got a booster and Omicron still spread. The answer is that there is a COVID cult out there. The cult believes that infinity days to stop the spread. The cult has one rule. That rule is that you will obey. If you ask why you should obey, that is a demonstration of a lack of faith. Because the measures that are being taken right now have no relation to the data on the table. The goal is to freak out everyone. The CDC has claimed for two years now that if we only have faith in them that it will solve all of our problems. And that is an element of faith because they demonstrated no capacity to do this. The one thing the government did well was to subsidize the big pharma industry in order to create the vaccines and distributed them. All the other things the government did very badly. And yet we have been told that these government gods are going to fix our lives. And so you have to double down on your faith. And you know what doubling down on your faith means? It means having skin in the game. There is an author named Nasim Nicholas Taleb and he wrote a book called skin in the game. His basic thesis is that religious people perform ritual to demonstrate fealty to the group. It means being willing to make a sacrifice in your personal life in order to demonstrate fealty to a particular faith or ideology. If it's me eating my vegetables to stay healthy, that is not skin in the game because that's just a normal rational thing to do. Any conclusion which can be arrived at through normal rational thought does not demonstrate fealty. That's just being a normal rational human being. So getting vaccinated does not really demonstrate fealty because that's just a normal rational thing to do to stay healthy. Ron DeSantis has been vaccinated. Donald Trump has been triple vaccinated. That's not good enough. This is why Webster's online dictionary changed the definition of antivax from does not like vaccines to opposes vaccine mandates. Supporting vaccine mandates does demonstrate fealty to the cause. Mask mandates have never worked to stop the spread. Forcing 5 year olds to vaccinate has not worked to stop the virus. But we must do it because this is the yammuka of COVID cultness. You are creating stricter and stricter rules in order to demonstrate fealty to the science, even though you rationally know they are not going to work. Yet science is no longer a neutral process for discovering the truth but rather an institution, like the CDC. So we have to get stricter based on faith and it can't be reasonable. In fact, it must be unreasonable. If you're willing to mask up your 3 year old. If you're willing to never go to dinner again with the people you love, you have truly demonstrated your fealty to the cult. You are truly a morally superior person. And when you talk to people who do all these things and still get COVID, they're bewildered similar to the way a Molly Mormon or Peter Priesthood is bewildered when a family member gets cancer. Maybe COVID doesn't play by your rules? Maybe your faith is inccorrect. Maybe you should reexamine your premise? But nobody is reexamining their premise. They're just doubling down. I think that we have converted so many Americans particularly in Blue States to this cultish behavior with regard to Covid. They literally predict death upon people who refuse to abide by their dictates. "Millions of unvaxxed will face a winter of illness and death." It's a transcript from Ben Shapiro's show yesterday. The parallel he demonstrated between cult behavior and the current COVID public policy was so good I typed it out as he spoke, which wasn't easy because he talks fast. I think it's yamaka. It's that little hat Jews wear on their head.

That statement is simply factual. The great majority of people in ICUs (and hence most likely to suffer death or long-term damage) are unvaccinated.

The immunity conferred by suffering an infection by the virus has always been acknowledged to be on average a lot less than that of full vaccination + booster. And initial data suggests that previous infection by the delta variant will not do much to protect you against the omicron variant.

Some religious cult leaders pull stuff out of their favourite sacred text, or out of less savoury places, and on that basis predict death for those who disobey what their deity wants. Fine: they can be safely ignored, since they have no real basis for their claims.

But if I say "If you stand in front of a speeding truck you will surely die", my prediction in no way resembles that of a cult leader, since I have an excellent factual basis for my prediction. I predict death for you because it is 99.99% certain that you will actually die under those circumstances.

Someone who states that many unvaccinated people are likely to suffer illness or death as the new variant sweeps over the country are simply telling you about a "speeding truck" risk - it is not only very likely to happen, it is already happening in ICUs all over the country. The comparison in the quote above is simply mendacious.

This is the same brain dead logic employed by the antivaxxers a year ago. Shapiro is either extremely stupid or simply disingenuous. We know that when cases skyrocket, it is typically a month or two before you see that translate to actual deaths. Omicron has only been in the USA a couple weeks now. Shapiro is seizing the moment to claim Omicron doesn't even kill people. Other Right Wing liars like Tucker Carlson went on the air just two days ago to claim Omicron hasn't claimed a single US death. Hannity did the same thing about COVID in Feb 2020. These are liars and despicable liars at that because they're encouraging people not to get vaccinated or boosted while creating more deaths, typically from their own voter base. Ben has always encouraged getting vaccinated and stated that if you're vaccinated getting Covid is likely to be nothing more than a mild cold.

OR SPREAD IT.

But vaccinated people most certainly are spreading omicron. How else has Omicron spread through Great Britain Chap, given that most Brits are vaccinated? Masks don't appear to do much to stop the spread of Omicron either.
