Pandemic: Life on the water

We drove to Miami last week, we're currently on an 8 night cruise. We departed Miami on Saturday, stopped in Curacao yesterday but today we were supposed to disembark in Bonaire but Bonaire was just listed as one of the eight "high risk" countries by the CDC yesterday so we're stuck on the ship for today. I'm hoping tomorrow's stop in Aruba isn't cancelled as well. Apparently a few people on the boat tested positive yesterday.

Well fuq. Captain just said Aruba won't let us dock, so now we're floating at sea looking for somewhere else to land.

Are you on the ship where more than 50 crew members and multiple passengers tested positive?

No that would be Royal Caribbean. We're on the Carnival Freedom wandering a couple hundred miles north of Venezuela. From what I understand only a few people have tested positive and they're being quarantined.

Good news. We're no longer doomed to stay on this ship through Christmas. Instead, we're docking at Amber Cove in the morning, which is in the Dominican Republic. Family is pleased.

Well, we’ll have to postpone the ‘mass chaos and rampant cannibalism’ phase of the experiment, I guess.
