From a False Flag operation to an unauthorized tourist excursion, January 6th has been obfuscated and minimized by Trump apologists.
No longer.
Read the charging document. The conspiracy, the planning, the execution are laid out in meticulous detail. In the words of the accused, "Civil War 2.0".
I do not see a fig leaf or a rationale that apologists can hide behind.

There are 48 pages and virtually no one will read the entire document. Do you have a page or a few paragraphs in particular you’d like to direct the Conservative non-readers to?

One of those charged is Thomas Caldwell, an Oathkeeper who has been a regular guest on Tucker Carlson. Wonder how TC is going to spin his way out of this one.
Also, in an extraordinary case of bad timing, Brit Hume tweeted an hour before these charges were made public that maybe we shouldn't call it sedition until someone is charged with sedition. Well, ask and you shall receive but i doubt the Fox heads will start calling it that.

I think we are seeing at least two conspiracies running in parallel, but not directed by anyone in common. The first is the plan to have the VP overturn the vote of the electoral college by providing phony slates of electors in seven states. The second is the Oath Keeper's conspiracy as charged in the indictment. There may be others similar to the Oath Keepers' conspiracy, but we'll have to see if the Justice Department has any other evidence.

Fox News spins a report about arrest of Oath Keepers leader and 10 others for January 6 riot into an attack on antifa
DAVID SPUNT (FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT): According to the indictment, during the melee, one of the Oath Keepers said in a group chat that antifa, the far left-leaning group, had breached the Capitol. Stewart Rhodes replied, quote, “Nope, I'm right here. These are patriots." Multiple law enforcement sources, Bill, have said over the past year there's no nexus for antifa to place that group on the January 6 attack. However, there have been investigations with antifa during the summer 2020 chaos after the murder of George Floyd. You remember courthouses under attack, people were stomped, people were trampled, businesses absolutely destroyed. Just this week on Capitol Hill, Republicans pressed DOJ and FBI officials about what's being done.
(CLIP BEGINS)
SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-SC): I encourage you to have the full force and weight of law against those who defiled the Capitol. But these protests went on for a year. As you can see this photo behind me, they were literally throwing Molotov cocktails trying to kill police officers.
(CLIP ENDS)
SPUNT: According to the FBI, more than 800 cases have been opened into 2020. More than 250 people have been arrested on federal charges.

It's kind of interesting that Democrats want no part in a bill to clarify the role of the VP in certifying electors.

The Ben Shapiro show of course. Here's an article I googled. Unless far left Democrats can pass their bill to ensure perpetual voter fraud is legalized, they're not interested in clarifying the role of the Vice President in certifying electors to avoid another January 6.

Not quite. Read your link.
Some Democrats are concerned making changes to the Electoral Count Act would reduce the urgency to pass federal voting rights bills.
Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), a key figure in Democrats' voting rights push, said a narrow Electoral Count Act reform bill would be a "distraction" and a "cynical political maneuver by people who are trying to rig the elections in our country."
Adam Bozzi, a spokesperson for End Citizens United, told Axios: "This feels like a GOP stall tactic. ... Claiming that they would 'negotiate' on a small part of the bill to slow movement overall is part of their playbook."
Judging by past GOP tactics over the last decade, I’d say that their conclusions have some merit.
