Lock [gender pronoun] up!
The Presidential Records Act was passed in 1978, after Richard Nixon tried to block certain documents from being a part of the historical record of his administration. In a democracy, the President serves at the pleasure of the people. The position as leader is a transitory one. The records of the office itself belong to the people of the United States.
While in office, Trump treated documents as if he were running his own company and not a democracy. He repeatedly tore up documents, even after being warned repeatedly that he was violating the law. He took 15 boxes of papers to Mar a Lago that belonged the National Archives.
Now the National Archives has asked the Justice Department to look into the matter. This wasn't a one-off example of ignorance of the law. Trump broke the law repeatedly, knowing full well that he was doing so. I fear if not investigated and punished, Trump's actions would constitute a carte blanche for future administrations to destroy virtually anything they felt like destroying.

The great problem of any civilization is how to rejuvenate itself without rebarbarization.

He never gets prosecuted for anything illegal he did. For some strange reason he gets away with everything, what makes us think he's going to get prosecuted for this? He was weirdly correct when he said he could literally shoot anyone on the street he wanted to and wouldn't get prosecuted. It's one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen. Everyone around him gets it, he goes free.......

I misspoke, it was an officer killed by the thrown fire extinguisher during the riots which Binger is unaware of. People were killed, and no one has been prosecuted for it. Trump encouraged the riots (which, again Binger has never heard of, so really, it's all a myth that didn't happen), so I would say he is ultimately responsible, as he did not even lift a finger to stop the riot either (which, once more, Binger has never heard of, so it is a sure thing that it never ever happened, but is just a silly CNN mock up and conspiracy.

Wow!!! I have never heard this.
This officer died from a fire extinguisher toss at the White House? That is horrible. What was his name? If that is true, I am sure his family had something to say about that.

Then there’s the stash at Mar-a-Lago …
Maybe this explains his penchant for oversized suits …The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) retrieved multiple White House record boxes last month that were improperly kept at former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago property, The Washington Post reported.
The boxes reportedly contained important records of communication, gifts and letters from world leaders, which, according to the Post, is a violation of the Presidential Records Act.
The newspaper added that the boxes retrieved from the Florida estate included correspondence with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as well as a letter from former President Obama to Trump.
The Post noted that recent administrations have all had some Presidential Records Act violations, including the use of unofficial email and telephone accounts as well as the destruction of emails.
But a source told the newspaper that the transfer to Mar-a-Lago was "out of the ordinary ... NARA has never had that kind of volume transfer after the fact like this."
