F your Feelings

Post by K Graham »

Ever since 2016 liberals have been called "snowflakes" by Right Wingers. It often comes up in the context of them making insidious and offensive remarks towards anyone who doesn't toe their party line, and instead of explaining why they did this it is easier for them to just attack anyone who gets offended. "F your feelings" is another one I've seen come up on Tshirts, and then Ben Shapiro's favorite:
facts.jpg
So I thought it was especially hilarious that in Florida Republicans are pushing a Bill that basically makes it illegal to teach anything that makes them feel "uncomfortable." This of course is all in the context of white supremacists getting upset because their kids are learning about America's actual history which includes slavery and discrimination.
A Florida state Senate committee on Thursday advanced a bill that would prohibit making white people feel "discomfort" when taught or trained about past discrimination in public schools and private businesses.

The bill, S.B. 148, would prevent school educators from teaching subjects that could make students feel responsible for historical wrongs based on their race, sex or national origin.

In private businesses, training or employment practices that make an individual feel uncomfortable on similar grounds could be subject to a company lawsuit for unlawful employment practices.

The state Senate Education Committee approved the bill Thursday on party lines.

“An individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, does not bear responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex," the legislation by Sen. Manny Diaz (R) reads. "An individual should not be made to feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race.”

The bill mirrors a proposal by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who rolled out the Stop the Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees Act, or WOKE Act, in December, which would allow parents to sue schools that teach critical race theory, a decades-old field of academia examining how race intersects with the law.
So basically Eff your feelings, but crap on free speech and education if MY feelings get hurt. Will the real Snowflakes please stand up?

So, there is a bill in Florida that says “F” your feelings and craps on free speech that hurts the feelings of white supremacists?

Link us up with the official link to this bill. I have never seen a bill that says “F” your feelings and also craps on free speech if it hurts the feelings of white supremacists. If that is what it actually says, I doubt it will pass or be approved. But, why don't you hook us up with the pdf of the bill from the government website and help us all consider the same facts about the bill?

Jesus damned Christ you're the dumbest person on the internet.

Just do the world a favor and stay out of my threads if you cannot respond to the issue like a grown adult with a fucntioning brain. You\re such a worthless piece of crap all you do is misrepresent what people say acting like you're a four year old when we already know you're an old man, and you then proceed to beat up a straw man. Like clockwork, it is all you do. You never answer questions asked of you, all you do is demand everyone answer your idiotic questions.

Should we all assume that you can't produce the actual bill and that it does not say what you claim?

We all? Stop pretending you have anyone on your side here.

You're too damned stupid and a dishonest piece of trash to even acknowledge that what I said isn't what you said I said. You do this crap to everyone.

Although the bill, named "Individual Freedom," does not mention Critical Race Theory, the term is used in the attached bill analysis that was given to senators.

DeSantis also referred to critical race theory when he announced the proposed legislation at a media event in December, saying the proposed law would help keep critical race theory out of the schools and out of the workplace, calling it "state-sanctioned racism" that creates a "hostile work environment."

Under Florida Department of Education rules that took effect last June, critical race theory cannot be taught in schools.

The legislation would prohibit individuals from making people "feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin."

It would also prohibit employers from providing training or instruction that "espouses, promotes, advances, inculcates, or compels" individuals to believe "that an individual bears responsibility for, or should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment because of actions committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, sex or national origin."

Instructors would be able to address topics of sexism, slavery, racial oppression, racial segregation, racial discrimination in an age-appropriate manner. However, the bill states that "classroom instruction and curriculum may not be used to indoctrinate or persuade students to a particular point of view inconsistent with the principles of this subsection or state academic standards."

Democratic State Senator Shevrin Jones, the committee's vice chair and its only Black member, told CNN by phone that the bill is an attempt to revise history and keep White people from feeling uncomfortable.

"This isn't even a ban on Critical Race Theory, this is a ban on Black history," he said. "They are talking about not wanting White people to feel uncomfortable? Let's talk about being uncomfortable. My ancestors were uncomfortable when they were stripped away from their children."

This legislation is a white supremacist's dream come true.

Ouch for you. So, still nothing on the actual bill? Just CNN's opinion article? If you are right, K Graham, it will be because of what is in the bill, not because of what CNN told you to feel or what you told us CNN told you to feel.

Do your own homework you loser. I'm not here to jump through your hoops while you obtusely act the fool and ignore every question asked of you. You're not here for dialogue on any level. You're just here to troll for the Right all the while dishonestly pretending to be in the middle.
