Now we know that was all a lie. Talk about the art of the grift. HFS, Trump and his family had been staying at Trump properties hundreds of nights during his term in office and he and his family members had large entourages of secret servicemen and they would bill the US taxpayer as much as $1100 per night! That's more than five times the government allowance. Where did all that money go? Right into Trump's pocket of course. Holy hell, no wonder he was so upset losing the election. He was making a fortune off of the American people with these scams.

This reminds me of the time Pence's "government related trip" to Europe was derailed because Trump wanted him to stay at Trump hotel in Scotland which was 180 miles away from his destination. Why? Obviously because that property was losing money. It had been in the red for years until Trump became President and started diverting tax payer money into his failing businesses.
This also reminds me of Trump leasing an entire floor of his hotel to the Saudis, who paid much higher rates and no one even used the rooms. It was all a scam to divert money for influence to the Trump crime family.The visit comes amid questions about members of the Trump administration spending money at Trump’s hotels; just last week, it was reported Attorney General William Barr will spend $30,000 at Trump’s hotel in Washington, DC, to throw a Christmas party.

Greg Pence (R-IN) has spent more than $43,000 at Trump hotels, and the vice president himself has addressed groups that have rented space at Trump properties).
