This is an absolutely fascinating book by Paul Manafort (name means strong handed) in Italian. He goes into great detail about the 2016 Republican primary, which by itself was unprecedented and fascinating. It is long at 25 hours on audible. Paul must have had plenty of time on his hands in his 2 years spent in solitary confinement for his service in support of the Trump campaign. I wish there were a way to cut and paste excerpts for you all. It does help explain the weaponization of the justice department and why whether innocent or guilty you should never speak to the FBI without your lawyer especially if you support an antiestablishment cadidate who seeks to drain the swamp. The deep state is real and powerful. Justice in Washington is partisan and inarguably politically motivated. I can't see it being worse save it be open violent civil war. On second thought civil war would probably be more honest and honorable. I don't think the Confederates and Yankees ever hated each other this much.

What's interesting is that Paul Ryan approved a special counsel on these phony Russian collusion investgations against Manafort to "clear the air." In reality Ryan was just an example of the Republican establishment seeking to stifle the Trump administration. I don't think most Republicans realize just how complicit the Republican establishment was in the Russia collusion hoax.

The 966-page bipartisan report said Manafort — who is now serving a seven-year prison sentence related to the Justice Department’s Russia investigation — maintained a close relationship with Russian national Konstantin Kilimnik, who it names as a Russian intelligence officer.

Another interesting fact, the miney laundering against Manafort charges were from 2014. No charges were ever filed until 2017. In other words it only became an issue when Manafort became Trump's campaign manager 2.5 years later.

What Manafort plead guilty to was trusting Bob Gates to manage his business finances. He never became the Weussman's star witness to undo the 2016 election results and take down Trump because there was no Russian collusion. The Trump campaign team brushed aside any fears of the Russia collusion investigation because they knew there was no collusion. But in Washington guilt and innocence has to do with current political expediency, who appointed the judges, the judge's ideology and the ideology of the jury pool which in D.C. is 98% Democrat. Jury makeup and partisan political judes are how Sussman got acquitted and how Manafort spent 2 years in solitary confinment with millions in legal bills. Manafort would still be in solitary today if it weren't for Trump's pardon.

He was indicted for more than ‘money laundering’, but even on that charge, your statement is incorrect.
Over a period of six years, the indictment indicates, Mr. Manafort made transfers totaling $6.4 million for real estate and more than $12 million for personal goods and services like clothing, vehicles and home improvement.

Better still, read the actual indictment doc at the link below, and note that counts 1, 2, 11 and 12 fall outside of (later than) 2014, and most charges involve activity occurring over multiple years -

Manafort was a manager of an east Ukranian, ethnically Russian candidate for President of Ukraine. Part of his job was topay the capaign employees. The black ledger along with Manafort's signatures were faked by western Ukranian political opponents. What's interesting is that while eastern Ukranians are ethnically Russian, they aren't pro Putin.

Even if Manafort stole millions of dollars which he didn't, how many nonviolent criminals are locked in solitary confinement for two years. No, this was just Weisman and Mueller trying to break him into becoming the star witness for Mueller in the Russian collusion hoax. Why do you think Mueller and Weisman were ultimaltely unsuccessful in this effort? Were they all that loyal to Trump that they'd go to prison for the rest of their lives to protect him? No, it just turned out to be hard to prove collusion when there was no collusion.

How did Sussmann get acquitted? He had a DC jury with two Obama domors, a Clinton donor, an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez donor ,a relative of Lisa Paige (Peter Szrock's mistress) and an obama appointed judge.

What made this worse was the judges gag order that didn't allow Manafort to defend himself against the media leaks from the FBI to the press.
