Not all undocumented immigrants are poor, some go back to buy a big house or start a business. See prices.

Some undocumented immigrants work in construction or roofing, and make at least 4,000 dollars a month. They save enough money to buy a big nice house in Mexico. It's true! Not fake news, it's reality.

However, "For most Americans, owning a home is now a distant dream"

Outside of Mexico city, the average home price in the southern Mexican states is about 40 thousand dollars. It's probably a lot cheaper in Mexican villages. The average home price in the U.S. is $348,079.

Yea, I'll probably buy a mansion in Mexico city someday.

The undocumented immigrants who work for independent contractors don't pay taxes.

My wife and I have discussed retiring to Central or South America. My inhibiting factor is I don't know how well I'd fare have an international border (or five) between me and family.

If she had her druthers, we'd probably be working on a way to get Cuban citizenship. We could likely get a similar home in Havana to what we have now for $40K-ish.

That's a pretty cool magic trick that they are able to live without ever buying anything. Immigrant wizards are drawn to independent contractors, I guess.

You’re not the only juan:

Lots of expats in MC, and ironically the locals don’t like them because of cultural differences.

As an aside, if you're thinking of buying a mansion in Mexico City, the rent for a one-bedroom apartment in City Centre is about $760/month. Probably a lot more bang for your buck to buy something in rural United States.

It wouldn't be a problem if all of them were paying taxes, but it's not the case.

Some undocumented immigrants have it way better than most US citizens.
