Why Rep. Jeffries is the real winner of the GOP's infighting

The contrast between the House Democrats unity and goals and the disarray of the House Republican majority and the paucity of their agenda could hardly be starker. I particularly love his clever A to Z comparisons between the Democrats' agenda and that of the MAGA extremists who now, in effect, dominate the Republicans:

American values over autocracy, benevolence over bigotry, the Constitution over the cult, democracy over demagoguery, economic opportunity over extremism, freedom over fascism, governing over gaslighting, hopefulness over hatred, inclusion over isolation, justice over judicial overreach, knowledge over kangaroo courts, liberty over limitation, maturity over Mar a Lago, normalty over negativity, opportunity over obstruction, people over politics, quality of life issues over Q Anon, reason over racism, substance over slander, triumph over tyranny, understanding over ugliness, voting rights over voting suppression, working families over the well-connected, xenial over xenophobia, yes we can over you can't do it and zealous representation over zero sum confrontation.

I particularly liked "maturity over Mar a Lago", an apt and pointed reference to the narcissistic man-child who formerly infested The Whitehouse.

He deserves to be Speaker of the House far more than McCarthy! I'd vote for him for President if I could!

Thank you for pointing that out, Doc Cam.

Even without pointing that out, there are far more than adequate grounds for concluding that McCarthy is not a good choice for any kind of high office. His continuing craven subservience to Trump, even after Trump's attempted insurrection which endangered members of congress, including McCarthy himself, who initially justly blamed Trump for that, is just another of the many reasons McCarthy is unfit to hold any high public office.

As pointed out by Representative Jeffries, in the first few days MAGA, instead of working on issues that protect ordinary Americans and promote quality of life issues, have passed a bill that makes it easier for the wealthy to get away with cheating on their income taxes, proposed legislation to protect January 6 insurrectionists from prosecution, defund the FBI and severely curtail women's health and reproductive rights by criminalizing abortion. These are issues that directly oppose what the vast majority of their constituents want, and even what the majority of Republican voters want! They are probably even going to try to pass legislation against environmental protection and promoting development of safe green energy sources, which even a greater majority of Americans say they want.
