Rant: FOX "news"

Post by Jersey Girl »

So this just happened. Fox is on the tv. I didn't put it there, I promise you that. The first report is about the US citizen young man (22?) type pushing two young (21 & 22?) US women down a cliff at Schloss Neuschwanstein in Germany where one of the young women died. Right? You've heard about that. Right?

The very next report is about the rising cost of child care in the US and how a couple with one child spends 11% on child care. They mention how it should be left to the states, blah, blah, damned blah. NOT ONE PERSON suggests that mothers stay home with their infants as they grow through childhood. NOT ONE. Farm the out to a relative, sure. But Mom? Nah because what difference does it make if a mother chooses to stay home and raise her own child.

The connection is...the attachment and bonding process. When an infant is put in full time care at 6 weeks that looses their ability to attach and bond to other human beings. In all cases? No. I would venture a guess that in MOST cases that is the outcome.

What difference does it make? While it creates loose attachments, that means it also compromises the development of empathy and in adverse child care environments where a child is enrolled full time neglect (and often abuse) is a GIVE which again creates an inability to trust, bond, and attach. Instead, we see the development of sociopathy and psychopathy.

Throw on a pile of young people interacting remotely on social media during their developmental years and then you get some 22 year old young man leading two young women down a secluded path (and they go!), trying to sexually assault one, and shoving them both off the cliff.

What the actual frack is wrong with people? I would bet my house (if I didn't need a place to sleep tonight) that the two stories are inextricably connected. How I wish that the perpetrator's history will come out and be made public during the investigative process! Because if he wasn't raised partly in child care, I say without question he wasn't raised in such a way as to develop strong attachment and bonding. Likely due to parental neglect and/or abuse AND why aren't we educating parents in this blasted country?!?!

I've been saying this for DECADES. Read or listen to the news. You can't miss this terrible feature of modern life in America! Educate parents, do something about parental leave, and for pete sakes heal this broken society!

I'm glad my wife was able to stay home with my kids. I worked 6 day weeks and paid off her student loans to make it happen. But it was well worth it. She was probably more capable of making money than me. We've had problems but she is a very good Mom.

My kids really are the best thing that ever happened to me. Nothing makes me happier than to think of leaving them everything I worked for through the years.
