Oh, I think Beckmann's painting demonstrates significant effort and skill. He's one of my favorite painters.

Anyway, Impressionist painting wouldn't manifest for another three hundred years after Arcimboldo. Arcimboldo was one of your Renaissance masters.

As was Quentin Matsys:
