I think a far more likely reason that migrants are willing to make the expensive and dangerous trip to the border is that they have witnessed people who try to legally enter the country wait forever while those who enter illegally are neither turned away nor sent back. As you said in your earlier posts nobody believes me when I say that illegal immigration reduces wages for American workers and increases the profits for CEOs and the 1%. So why would illegal immigrants take my word for it that the border is open and bet their savings upon my word alone? I mean, it wasn't like 20 years ago Trump was President and proved completely inept at closing the border, it was just a few years ago. Do you seriously expect people to be as ignorant as you pretend to be of recent history? We know Trump didn't do anything to prevent illegal immigration, because it hit a 12 year high on his watch and only went down because of the "scamdemic." In fact, since you credit the "scamdemic" to Democrats, you only have Democrats to thank for making it go down in 2020. All Trump did was bitch and moan about how his executive order kept getting overturned by the courts and he insisted Congress pass laws that would enable him to do something.

The fact is more people have been detained under Biden than Trump, and the fact is detainees were more likely to be released back into the country under Trump than Biden.
