Obama for Vice President

https://cornerstonelaw.us/22nd-amendmen ... hink-says/
The 22nd Amendment only requires that someone not be elected to the Presidency more than twice. Someone who was elected to two terms on his own is still eligible to be Vice President and to rise to the Presidency upon the death, resignation or removal of the President.

If we review the 12th Amendment, we find that there is a requirement that the Vice President must be eligible to become President. This has led many to conclude that someone who has already been “termed out” as President could not serve as Vice President; however, this does not appear to be correct. The 12th Amendment only requires that an individual who is ineligible to become President cannot be Vice President. It does not say that someone who is ineligible to be elected President could not be Vice President. Accordingly, the 22nd Amendment leaves open a loophole that an individual could be elected to the Vice Presidency (or the Speakership of the House), then rise to the Presidency.

In a time of concern, perhaps the Nation could call on a former two-term President by electing him as Vice President even with the knowledge that the plan all along was for the President to resign immediately upon taking Office. This might violate the spirit of the Amendment, but it does not violate its letter.
Biden picks Obama for VP and Biden steps down after being elected. Crazy?

I actually think I posted about this before the last election. The only thing crazy about it is that I doubt that Michelle Obama would agree to green light the idea.

Yeah, I think a lot of us are praying for a Michelle Obama Hail Mary.

Not sure? I think this might actually happen. Imagine people coming to Michelle saying how critical it would be for her to do this for the country. I believe that she would at least consider it. As bat-crap crazy the times are that we are currently living in, who knows?

I dunno. She is so dead set against getting involved in politics. And she is relatively untested. Hillary was a senator and a member of the Obama administration before she became the Democratic candidate for president. We also have no idea what Michelle's liabilities and weaknesses are. No doubt there will be some, just as there are for every candidate. She does not really fit a significant portion of my profile for a good presidential candidate: she lacks experience in government.

But, then, that did not bother Trump voters when they voted for Trump.

Your profile for a good presidential candidate (I am not suggesting you can't have one), are just yours. They do not speak for everyone.

Many people do not want an "experienced" political figure (a.k.a. - one of those who belong to the extremely powerful DC establishment) because that's what many people find to be the problem.

I am obviously and probably even predictably not a fan of the idea that untested, inexpert people are the best ones to choose to solve complex problems.

You're in luck then. The next President, should Trump be elected, has sat in the President's seat for 4 years already. He is experienced.

I refer you to my post on my qualifications for president: bad performance in an office is not qualifying.

Biden had to be convinced to run, he was very against it for a long time. I would hope Michelle would be willing to see the gravity of the situation and let Barrack put in another 4. Especially now that their kids are grown.
