Spokane, Washington hit 109 degrees

Post by Doctor CamNC4Me »

My hometown used to be so cool that hardly anyone bothered with AC in the 70’s and 80’s. How hot is it where you live?

Your hometown is Spokane?

It's been in the 90's where I live for the last two weeks straight.

Yep, grew up there 71-90, returned from my mission 92, stayed for a couple years, and then became a merc for the billionaire class.

It blows my mind that Spokane can hit 109. It makes my tummy squeeze.

Yeah, I lived in South Hill for a couple years, and I was amazed at how hot it got in the summer. We had fans blowing in every room.

Freakish and disturbing. I'm sure Trump will fix it by "drill, baby, drill!"
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

I'm on the west side, a bit south of Tumwater -- we are expecting 93 today. We've already had several days of 90+ this year, which seems weird.

Crazy. I wonder how many times I walked by her house. We lived just south of 29th Ave.

The first year I was there, we went to the Pig Out (I think that's what they called it - it was the event down town where all the food trucks set up in the park and they had live music and activities). I remember thinking that day it was way too hot for late September. It was a great time when you could find shade.

That downtown park area around the river is drop-dead gorgeous.

I am in Walla Walla, which is year around a bit warmer than Spokane.I checked our weather forecast it is very close to same as Spokane, 104 is the highest so far this summer here, are you sure about 109? Well weather can produce odd variations. I am not sure if there is any reflection of climate change. July with some triple digit spells is normal here. This year June was a bit cooler than usual and July a bit hotter to my rough estimate.

I think what may reflect climate change more is the episodes of extreme smoke which have occurred in recent years.
