Trump Unveils Plan To ‘End All Taxes On Overtime’ Work

Former President Donald Trump announced on Thursday at a rally in Arizona that he would push to end taxes on overtime pay if elected in November.

Trump, who previously said he would work to end taxes on tips, unveiled the new tax policy proposal while speaking to supporters in Tucson at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. He said that it would incentivize employees and help companies find workers.

“As part of our additional tax cuts we will end all taxes on overtime,” Trump said.

“It’s time for the working man and woman to finally catch a break,” he added. “I think it’s going to be great for the country. So that’s why we will be saying that if you’re an overtime worker when you’re past 40 hours a week, think of that, your overtime hours will be tax-free.”

“The people who work overtime are among the hardest working citizens in our country and for too long no one in Washington has been looking out for them,” Trump continued. “Those are the people, really work. They are police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers, and machine operators.”

I'm afraid that's something working people can only dream about. But the fact that Trump is even proposing something like this puts him miles in front of any politician, Republican or Democrat in my eyes. Sure the uniparty would kill a bill like this before it ever hit the President's desk. They can't let go of their richest source of tax chattel. Real freedom is only a dream. But I still believe we should hang on to our dreams. So I'm not voting Democrat in this election to sabotage the country. Someday I'll tell my grandchildren we once had a politician who would not stop fighting for working people. They weaponized the justice system against them. They impeached him. They'll likely imprison him. The woman he defeated in 2016 even wanted to imprison his supporters for posting online support of his policies. They even shot at him an attempted to kill him twice. But he would not stop fighting for his constituents and the rights of working people and his America first agenda.

So he basically promised Heritage Foundation that they could write the complete playbook for his presidency, and then he publicly backed off from Project 2025 once liberals began exposing what it was. And part of project 2025 is to eliminate paid overtime. Yeah, that would eliminate taxes on overtime. So this could be a wink to project 2025. Or it could be him turning around a negative perception like suddenly promoting IVF, none of which he really cares about or plans on doing anything about.

But sure, he can say anything he wants to win.

He literally lies about everything, so why would the working man, say a MAGA supporter, who is also knowingly in on his lies, believe he’s telling the truth this time?

One of the most interesting things about this election is that it wasn't some kind of scandal involving racist comments (there were those, though), or infidelity (there was that too), or a whopper of a lie (plenty of those) like in other election cycles that caused the biggest ruckus, and scrambling to do damage control. The thing that caused the biggest issue and a wild scramble to contain the fire was that Republicans actually wrote down their plans.

Incidentally, given that Trump increased government spending every single year in office, who exactly does ajax think will be paying for this tax cut on overtime wages? Or, are we just to expect more out of control money printing by Trump... which is bad... except when he does it, or something.

Right, which is why I wish liberals wouldn't take the bait and turn this into an election about Haitian persecution. That response cements the one-track DEI obsession that conservatives think liberals have. Liberals aren't going to convince any conservatives who haven't ditched Trump yet that his racism is a problem for the country. However, there's still a chance some may be convinced when it's things like abortion and anything 2025 related that could affect them personally.

Weirdly, the algorithm sent me a clip of Nick Fuentes yesterday which makes a similar point. Fuentes is once again an enthusiastic supporter now that Trump the racist is back. He clarifies that all these other issues he's going to lose on so he needs to steer clear and stick with racism. (of course he doesn't call it racism)

I've got a business plan.

I guess it could be bad if every other employer had this idea. Tax revenue would drop to near zero. The Marine Corps would have to shine shoes on street corners. Fortunately, though, most business owners aren't sneaky enough to think of tricks like mine, to exploit well-intentioned laws catastrophically. After all, that's why fiscal policy is easy and anything that sounds good at first is sure to be a great idea in practice.

Empty promises is what Trump is all about. It is all he has ever offered.
