I wouldn't be so sure about that. Trump has never made secret of his disdain for most anyone other than the wealthy and powerful who have both the means and desire to bribe him into doing whatever they want him to do, whether legal, moral or not.

Trump shut down access to a Medicaid portal completely for several hours, similar to how he recently shut down an app immigrants use to manage their cases a few days ago. If I am reading you right, it's something along the lines of my own thinking. Let the man run wild. Light every fire he can think of. Then let the Republicans themselves stand up to him. See how that goes.

I think that for him, the worst case scenario is that he loses power and any back up he thought he had. Without that, he's got nothing. Republicans who function in concert as a united front are the only folks in a position to change the tide.

That's not ever going to work, drumdude. Right-wingers pride themselves on being hard-ass self-reliant ascenders of mountains who will pull a .12 gauge and blow their dog's head off with a 3.5" magnum round of 00 buck for no reason other than they are a bit agitated that day. The only Jesus they know is the one who drove the money changers (deep state) out of the temple. They're amped up and ready to break down the doors of the capitol (and then do nothing from there).

As many right-wingers are on food stamps as liberals, probably more because they are hypocrites, and as Ajax himself pointed out, the only reason Trump could win is because right-wingers in general are so weak and dependent of government that Trump had to lie and say he wouldn't touch all of the entitlements that they needed, whereas Nicky Haley tried to tell the truth and attracted people who were willing to be tough rather than all the LARPing and ignorant dupes.

I wish liberals would quit objecting and filing lawsuits. Let Trump destroy the lives of 60% of his base or more; or at least force the spineless Republican politicians who laugh while Trump plays the evil class clown to step in and fight the problem they created lest they be destroyed as well.
