A federal probe into alleged workplace discrimination at Tesla, including "N-word, swastikas, threats, and nooses, on desks," has been abruptly axed by an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on Jan. 21.

The order dismantled the Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), the agency responsible for enforcing equal employment laws among federal contractors.

"Black employees at Tesla's Fremont, California manufacturing facilities have routinely endured racial abuse, pervasive stereotyping, and hostility as well as epithets such as variations of the N-word, 'monkey,' 'boy,' and 'black b*tch,'" according to the EEOC.

Tesla was among the companies under active investigation by the OFCCP. The agency had planned to audit Tesla's Fremont factory in 2024, but those plans were scrapped before any findings could be made public.

"We had to mail the companies we audit to tell them they no longer have to comply with our rules or regulations," Aliyah Levin, president of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 2391 told the San Francisco Standard.

The fallout of the agency's closure reaches far beyond Tesla. In California alone, dozens of companies, including Google, Meta, BlackRock and PG&E, were slated for OFCCP investigations. Nationwide, more than 2,000 federal contractors were expected to be reviewed in 2024. Now, those cases have been wiped from the books.

The OFCCP played an important role in holding Silicon Valley accountable for workplace discrimination. The agency secured multimillion-dollar settlements from major tech firms over pay disparities in recent years, including LinkedIn, Google and Cisco. Under its agreements, companies faced continued federal oversight to ensure compliance with anti-discrimination laws.

Trump's order repealed the 1965 executive order that created the OFCCP, deeming it an "illegal" diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiative. Acting Labor Secretary Vincent N. Micone enforced the decision and sent an email directing staff to "cease and desist all investigative and enforcement activity."
Apparently this is what the Trump Administration means by eliminating DEI, namely to make it acceptable and legal to discriminate against blacks and other minorities in the workplace and even to encourage abusing and humiliating them. Musk's extreme apartheid beliefs are apparently just as strong now as they were when he was a resident of South Africa.

I think this is a big reason Trump is pals with Musk. Also why the X media platform is overrun with Nazis.

Likely so, but surely the biggest reason is that Musk contributed more than a quarter million dollars to Trump's campaign.

I wonder how soon Trump will start executing or assassinating political opponents and others who don't agree with his views and expose his lies. He has already expressed admiration and envy for brutal dictators like Kim Jong Un and other despots who don't hesitate to do just that. The Supreme Court has already stupidly ruled, in effect, that Trump can't be indicted or prosecuted even for that! Trump and JD Vance have already maintained that Trump can and will defy court rulings that he doesn't like. Who has the courage and sense to speak out against anything Trump does or wants to do, knowing that they could very well become targets for execution or assassination at Trump's whim? Will Trump's critics and opponents start mysteriously falling out of windows like Putin's opponents and rivals?

Some his most extreme supporters, like Nick Fuentes, have even expressed support for executing people merely for being Non Christian!

Oh, I seriously doubt it'll go anywhere near that far.

If they do, then everyone will just say it's a conspiracy theory and the public will go back to business as usual.

I sincerely hope you're right, but you know that some of his sycophantic followers have openly advocated executing Democrats, Non Christians, LGTBQ people, etc. and anyone else who contradicts him. Trump, himself, has expressed the view that he could shoot any random person on the street and not lose his dedicated followers. I'm not at all confident that he would never do that, as he seems to be convinced he could get away with it any time he wanted to. He certainly is in favor of capital punishment and there is little doubt in my mind that he regards anyone who contradicts him as a traitor.

That's precisely what I am afraid will happen, if Trump or one of his loyal followers takes it upon himself to arrange fatal accidents for Trump's political opponents! Do you really think, given what we know of Trump's history and mendacity, that is so far fetched? Do you have any serious doubt that he is, indeed, a justly convicted felon?
