Block Party

I have been having an extended block party this weekend! Hanging out with neighbors you ask? Nope! Blocking Trumpers on Facebook! It feels soooooo good! A little burst of joy and relief with every block. I find the most people to block on LDS apologist threads. Those LDS apologists who do not support Trump are connected to countless people who do, and I get my mouse-clicking finger ready to block!

Exceptions to my blocking:

Family members
Personal friends
School acquaintances from way back

But there are plenty of randos whose noise I can shut out without a care . . . Heck, with great relief!

I highly recommend blocking strangers with smelly opinions on Facebook.

That sounds a lot like my own detox program! I have a friend here where we live who keeps posting stuff that is anti-Trump on Facebook. She's driving me crazy with that coming up in my feed. Everywhere I look online is his stupid name. She actually suggested that I do the same. I told her my Facebook is a politics free zone. I think I'll take a cue from you and shut off her notifications and get some peace in my soul! I hate having to go through the rigamarole to adjust my settings because people are going off on a tear. Off to do that right now! :)

ETA: Gone! Peace on earth good will to me!

Good idea! I believe that you should tailor Facebook to YOUR needs, not feel obliged to do things or confront things there that you don’t want to.

I blocked Facebook several years ago. It's been awesome.

My Facebook is for peace. I don't post controversy or even personal details such as our health status. Except for a few folks, my Facebook "friends" have no idea how sick I've been or for how long. No one sees photos of me because I look like absolute death right now. It would scare people and I don't want to have answer questions. The only public place I've discussed it is right here on the board in the SPP and that thread was born out of sheer desperation one night in 2023.

The closest thing I get to posting a political statement is just recently changing my "cover" back to sunflowers in support of Ukraine after the political mugging that just took place in the White House. I'm SO glad you put up the OP, Kish. It got me thinking about that one friend. I don't care if it's pro or anti Trump. It is just too much and I want that name out of my blessed sight.

No Facebook in your life is the optimal setting.

I enjoy Facebook. I just don't enjoy people torturing me.

Peeked in. That friend posted 6 anti-Trump posts today already. Day's not over!
