US TikTok is now called “TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC”. The three ‘big players’ are Oracle a.k.a. tech billionaire Larry Ellison (a longtime Dump [deleted] because Ellison wants a Technocracy); Silver Lake a.k.a. tech billionaire Egon Durban; and MGX a.k.a. an Abu Dhabi AI -> chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE’s ruling family. Oracle, Silver Lake and MGX each own about 15 % of the new entity while ByteDance a.k.a. tech billionaires Zhang Yiming, Arthur Dantchik, Neil Shen and millionsaire Liang Rubo keeps about 19.9 %. Other investors include the family office of billionaire Michael Dell. As a reminder Dump personally backed the deal and signed executive actions that kept TikTok from being banned outright. All these people I named are big Dump supporters and all are committed to technocratic control over you.
Now, with that said, the Terms of Service expands what data its app can collect (including location, gender, citizenship status, AI interactions, and other personal information) and goes from being controlled by a foreign company to being run by an American-majority group of technocrats and billionaires who are all bought in to Ellison’s technocratic world order. Users are now experiencing constant political censorship, and feel like the “old TikTok” is gone. They’re starting to flee in droves, as they should.
