Trump Does THIS After Dolly Parton Death

Trump claimed to honor Dolly Parton despite deliberately undermining or cutting much of what she stood for that made her one of the most admirable and beloved musical stars and personalities and philanthropists ever. She was a wonderful and caring human being who contributed much of her fortune to help educating children and contributing to vital pediatric health care research and treatment, programs that Trump and his administration has ruthlessly tried to cut or even eliminate in order to afford incredibly massive tax cuts for selfish, ultra-wealthy billionaire friends and donors.

I can think of few things stupider than cutting government funds to support education, when it is an incontrovertible fact that government investment in education is one of the few things that consistently return many times more to the economy than the amount invested.

No. Sisson is wrong headed in his approach and I think you should carefully examine that again.

I'll give you a head start. Here is his assertion. I'll bold a significant point.
And I've seen something really disgusting following the announcement of her death. It's Republicans like Donald Trump and the people around him and Republicans in the state of Tennessee trying to make it seem like Dolly Parton was aligned with them on the issues that she agreed with them and that couldn't be further from the truth.
He goes on:
So, I want to set the record straight and let's just look at Donald Trump's statement because it's it's no nothing no problem here. He said, "Very sad to report that Dolly Parton, one of the greatest country singers and far beyond ever, has just passed away. This is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her and never will. In her honor, I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States for a oneweek period beginning tonight at 6:00 p.m. Rest in peace, Dolly. The world loves you. So, I have no problem with this statement. I have no problem with him lowering the flags. That's wonderful
What I do have a problem with, however, is how Republicans have gone after the things that Dolly Parton cared about and then
Wait. Was that his assertion? No, it wasn't.
Donald Trump is pretending that he was aligned with her, that he loved her, that he respected her.
Where does Trump say that? He doesn't.

Does any of that prove his assertion? If so, how?

Did he change his assertion?

You could listen to the rest of the video and say how he proved his initial assertion. But you can't. Because he didn't.

What assertion? I wholeheartedly approve of Trump honoring and praising Dolly Parton for her great talent and humanitarian efforts and lowering the flags in her honor, and so does Sisson. He was just correctly pointing out that Trump really couldn't have cared less about her good works and initiatives and actually did a lot to oppose and drastically cut support and spending for those very causes to which Dolly so generously contributed.

Trump 'undid' Dolly Parton's hard work with one move after reelection
A viral post is drawing a straight line between Dolly Parton’s philanthropy and federal medical research cuts under President Donald Trump.

Posted by FactPost on X, the message reads: “2022: Dolly Parton donates $1 million to fund pediatric infectious disease research. 2025: Donald Trump cuts $12 million in grants for pediatric medical research.”

It's part of a wider look at Parton's life, with many pointing out that the incredibly wealthy singer was a charismatic humanitarian whose generosity lifted the well-being of communities in her home state and beyond.

It also reflects the views of Trump's opponents, who say the administration’s budget cuts have lowered living standards.

Some of Trump's cuts sharply limit access to healthcare, shrink the social safety net and nutrition assistance programs, and increase the cost-of-living strain on low- and middle-income households.

Though popular, the comparison posted on X requires some context on how the funding works and timelines. The post references Parton’s widely reported $1 million gift to support pediatric infectious disease research, announced in 2022.

It also points to the Trump administration canceling or attempting to cancel roughly $12 million in federal grants tied to pediatric and youth health-related research.
While it is true that the Trump administration did not and (hopefully) could not legally cut Dolly's contributions, they did oppose and drastically cut many government contributions to the same worthy causes, largely in order to afford the trillion or more dollars of tax cuts for the wealthiest of the wealthy, who would still have remained fabulously wealthy even without the cuts. Not to mention funding Trump's idiotic war with Iran!

Excuse me, what? I copied it, bolded it and labeled it for you. Here it is again. Pretend it's on a silver platter this time.

Nisson twisted the whole presentation into a 2-layer pretzel. Trump addressed her talent NOT her good works. So what's the issue? That he undermined her initiatives? That's not what his post was about and he didn't act like he aligned himself with her...he simply praised her talent and said the world loved her...not that HE loved her.

Not only that, where are the nameless Republicans he referred to that made themselves appear that they also aligned with her??? He didn't present even one evidence of that.

There's two different issues at play there. Sisson didn't address them seperately. He threw all of it, stirred it up, and made a stew out of them as if they were one.

I know all of that. I watched the video and researched each claim. They still have nothing to do with his assertion that Trump and Republicans (who he failed to name or quote) gave the appearance that they aligned with her.

I know all that. It doesn't change my position.

Anyway, we're not supposed to push back at each other. You're undermining the claim that ceeboo and others try to make about this place being an echo chamber of folks with TDS!

If they only knew... ;)

Oh and by the way, I think the only reason Trump posted that tribute and ordered flags lowered is because he knew if he didn't he'd be on the receiving end of an uprising ala Jan 6th because just about the whole freaking country would come out in droves for his head on a stick in person and online.

You know and wreck his reflection pool restoration project, his various monuments to himself, and let's not forget the beautiful grass!

He's too much of a coward to let that happen.

All I keep hearing is that the wrong 80 year old died.

Does anyone give a crap what ceeboo thinks? I mean, for real?

Nobody knows what he thinks because he never talks about it. Frankly, I don't think he bothers with thought. He's a Trump voter.

The moment a Trump voter uses the acronym "TDS" you are assured they are a brainless lemming.

I see your point. Trump did, after all, honor her for her undeniable talent but made no clearly obvious mention of approval of her humanitarian accomplishments. He could have disparaged and condemned her because of her obvious disapproval of him and his policies, but probably only refrained from that because he dimly realized that would be a "bridge too far" even for him, because of her immense popularity and the widespread love for her by so many.

Out of all the things Donald Trump has done, you think that is what would finally piss people off??
