What tax rate do you think is fair for you? If it's zero, then tell me zero. now calculate how much more you'd have a month if you only had to pay your fair share of taxes. Think about having x more dollars every month. Why would that be any easier to hold on to? Do you really think it would solve your problems? Oh, sorry, cut your energy bill into 1/3d. Now are your problems solved?
