CDC announced no mask for the fully vaccinated

CDC updated the mask policy so that fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask in most indoor places and outdoors. I feel a sense of relief that we are beginning to progress back to where we were at before COVID hit. I also hope this will encourage people to get the vaccine.

I think it's going to cause a lot of confusion. The anti-maskers now have an open field to go maskless. Whatever. I'm happy to finally be able to go maskless myself however I'll probably still wear mine for a bit longer.

Agreed. With no real way to ensure someone is vaccinated we most likely will see those who aren't vaccinated lying about it.

I don't generally wear a mask outside when I go for a walk, but I carry a mask with me and put it on if I decide to enter a store or other public facility. I'm no longer worried about getting infected or infecting someone else though, as I am fully vaccinated. I wear the mask only to minimize the uneasiness of any I might encounter who still might be a bit anxious about possible exposure to the virus, and who can't know whether I am fully vaccinated. With the continuing increase in the number of folks fully vaccinated and the decrease in daily new cases and positivity rates, I figure I'll be okay with going fully mask-less full time within the next month or so, at least until and unless the local air becomes as smoky as it did last year around here because of too many nearby wildfires.

And you send your smoky air over to us. So if we're not dealing with our own fires, we're dealing with everyone else's wildfires. Let's hope this summer proves to be better than last because we had smoke straight through until at least the second snow.

I expect to wear a mask when traveling by air likely for the remainder of my life. I always wanted to do that anyway and now that masks are common sights, I'll just keep doing it.

You know what? That is probably a good idea nowadays, COVID-19 or no COVID-19, especially if engaged in international air travel.
