Le Tour de France
Is anyone besides me following the Tour?
It started July 5 and ends July 27th.
There is a new team from the US-Garmin-Chipotle, that is actually having a good showing so far. It is a young team.
I must say I miss Team Discovery-Lance Armstrong's old team. It disbanded after last year. One of Discovery's riders-Alberto Contador won last year. Discovery was a power house even without Armstrong.

I have on and off... not every day. I've been keeping an eye on Hincapie.
For several years (many of them Lance's winning years) we were vacationing in Europe while it was happening. It's much easier to track there, with greater coverage. In '06 we were in Paris a few days before the final day, and a lot of our photos of the city show the bleachers that lined the streets.
Now when I watch it, it makes me long to be back there. They pass through some beautiful country.

YOU can see the entire tour each day on the Verses Network. Live in the AM and expanded coverage form 8PM EST to 11 PM as well. You can get Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin live in the AM and Bob Roll in the PM as well as more Liggett and Sherwin. These sports announcers make it fun to watch even if you are not in to cycling. Bob Roll is almost a stand up comedian.
And as you noted the country is beautiful and the shots you get from the helicopter cameras are awesome.

See, if it was a bike race with a bunch of women riding around in tight spandex I could be down with watching that... But staring at a few hundred miles of man-ass ain't my thing.
