So you're betting this a whole cloth fabrication and there was no warrant out for Daunte Wright?

And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Yes. Meghan McCain raised the above issues on The View--whenever it was--also brought out was the fact that the sidearm is supposed to be holstered on the dominant side.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 9:10 pmDidn't the lady who shot my wife have extensive training with her sidearms and trained others? In other words, there is absolutely NO WAY a person that's even passingly familiar with their service weapon and a taser, even if the taser has a grip, could confuse the two upon grabbing one or the other.
Anecdote follows:
I trained on glocks, sig sauers, springfields, and a taser (I don't remember the model, maybe a M26 or some such model, but it had a grip). I also owned a Ruger at one point and a crappy Kel-tec. You train by basically grabbing your pistol without looking at it, raising it to a firing position, and then squeezing off a round, and then returning it to your holster without looking. Over and over and over and over again. It's damned endless. Point being is you can tell from the microsecond you touch your sidearm what kind of sidearm it is. They all feel different. They all have different textures, grips, design, weights, balances, whatever. Plus you raise the weapon to get a line of sight and, you know, you see the damned weapon.
There is NO WAY you could mistake a taser for a pistol. Everything about a taser is different. Everything. The grip is very different, the weight and balance is totally different, and when you raise it up to fire on the target the sighting is different from pistols. I'm convinced that woman shot that dude, and then stated on camera that she was confused in order to reduce the inevitable charges. In other words, she's attempting to lay down an alibi the moment she realized she screwed up. It's that simple.

What impresses me in these cases, and not in a good way, is how hysterical the officers are when approaching a suspect. Watch the video of this female officer, a 26 year veteran of the PD and trainer, as she basically loses her crap at Daunte. Same thing with the Army Lt. in uniform, who was pulled over, screamed at, threatened, pepper sprayed and put on his knees to be cuffed...for a traffic stop. That officer was fired if I recall correctly.
Some of these officers are either burn out or mental cases. And they wonder why a (primarily) male POC is afraid to exit their vehicle.
Dear Jesus.

Nobody has to bet anything. There is nothing wrong with waiting to see if it is reported by a source that doesn't have a history of, say, brazenly misreporting facts; some would call that the responsible, sensible thing to do. I'd add a YMMV, but my heart wouldn't be in it.

Re: Daunte Wright, warrant for Aggravated Battery
I'm not betting anything. Why? How is his alleged criminal history relevant to the fact that a 26 year veteran of the police department and trainer, didn't know she was pulling and firing her gun and not a taser?

Jersey Girl, it’s not. According to the information I saw, she was trying to arrest him for an outstanding warrant on an unspecified gross misdemeanor. That was pretty widely reported.
I haven’t seen the tape, but wasn’t the victim walking away from the officer?

You're absolutely obsessed with themes that only find an audience among white supremacists.
I'm not of a superior race nor did I ever claim to be. After meeting you, I'm not really sure I even love my own race.
You hate black people and this has been manifest for years now, despite your attempts to cover your tracks from that white supremacist forum where you were stupid enough to go by the same moniker. You're human garbage who needs to just go away for good so the world can progress.

Are you asking if Daunte Wright was walking away from the officer? So far as I know (recall I'm spending time on the Chauvin trial as I have time so I might have missed something about Mr. Wright) he was shot before exiting his vehicle. Then after being shot, exited the vehicle.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 1:58 amJersey Girl, it’s not. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I'll get to following this case more carefully (I am not a trial watcher, I am not a trial watcher, I am not a trial watcher) after the Chauvin case is decided which will likely be next week.
When the trial off Officer Potter comes up best believe I'll follow it.
ETA: The video I saw indicated to me that Mr. Wright was shot in the abdominal area while sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle with the driver's side door open, the officer approached kind of from the side of his body. That's difficult to describe. It's on tape though.

Re: Daunte Wright, warrant for Aggravated Battery
The officer was arrested and charged with 2nd degree manslaughter.ajax18 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 4:58 pm
Now this doesn't justify the female police officer of mistakenly grabbing her gun rather than a taser. She'll face a pretty open and shut case of involuntary manslaughter. But how many of you even know this about Daunte Wright from CNN? Daunte's parents won't accept the police officers account that she made a grave error. They insist it was intentional. My question for them is did they even know that Daunte was riding around with a warrant out for his arrest? Did they even care?
Now most here would contend that the only reason any of this happened to Daunte was because he was part black and Minnesota police are racist. I'm viewed as a racist because I still believe that running from a warrant and resisting arrest greatly increase your chances of bad things happening even if unintentionally.
