He he, no I was only hinting that such absolutes can put one in the same camp, moving from objective observations to die-hard zealots pushing the limit of the truth to support a claim.

Yeah, I see where you’re coming from. And don’t get me wrong; I and my wife are former BYU students and we agree that many parts of the university are first rate, like the business school and even the law school (despite the fact that it’s named after J. Reuben Clark). But the Psych Dept is an aberration in an otherwise excellent institution, at least it was during the 70s and 80s when they had to conceal certain activities to keep from losing their academic accreditation.

Sinister puppet strings? Like as in a conspiracy? No, the General Authorities who run BYU are very up front about the fact that BYU is part of the Church. The only ones who are saying BYU isn’t part of the Church are the authors of that BS FAIR rebuttal. If you believe BYU’s not part of the Church, then you’ve never been a student at BYU.
