I do consider that if one prays with real intent and with sincerity, or rather "asks of God", that one will, upon said manifestation, "know the truth".
Okay. So members of those religions claiming to be Mormon but which aren't the Brighamite sect should be informed by the Holy Spirit that their religion isn't true.
Would they not be entitled to make the exact same claim in reverse?

Exactly!
Sub you are doing Moroni's promise wrong. Evidenced by your not being a member of the FLDS.

i answered this when i responded to your OP question...are you really this incapable?
people can claim, obviously, whatever they like - but my response is still accurate.
how can you be so inept at discerning simple statements like:
i have no way of knowing that. They may have received an answer from the "challenge", what answer i do not know. It is apparent that, if they took the challenge and received an answer they acted erroneously when it came to choosing which Church to join.
OR
that's because you assume facts not in evidence. The OP specifically asks "How do you know that the Brighamite sect was the right one?" to which i responded. Now you have changed the subject, and changed it to a subject that neither of us are qualified to discuss beyond speculation.
OR
Because the FLDS church bases its spiritual authority from the Wolley statement and the alleged 1886 revelation.
the senseless conclusions you are otherwise trying to draw are simply that....senseless

I'm not sure what you mean, can you be a bit clearer?

Ah, I see. I thought you were posting in response to the few posts just before your link to the manual--the ones dealing with the transfiguration of Brigham (which legend, interestingly, the manual did not include).

You envisioned President Monson standing before the Quorum and announcing, "I don't know if we teach that..." so that all those awake thought they were hearing President Hinckley. Makes sense.
Bc, when do you think the Presidency will announce Mission Objective #5 that all Mormons must endorse right-wing politics? That would certainly set a new standard for the 'right' kind of Mormon.

Already "announced" since one votes as one believes. This is why being a Democrat is a sign of unbelief.

Perhaps you should start your own church where the leadership will be more in harmony with your doctrine.
