Don't worry ludwigm. You'll have your opportunity to explain yourself when you stand before the Lord and know that he is and does exist. That should be a real shock for you.

Tobin, I don't know if you are really a Mormon or not, but if you are, then you do not accept the prophets teachings regarding godhood.

I accept what God teaches about being exalted and our proper relationship with God. I do not aspire for things I should not. I believe that is a serious sin to aspire to be God and Mormons that do and teach that greatly error in doing so. I believe many Mormon prophets and apostles (and members) have stepped out of line with what God teaches in their speculations and taught false doctrine about this. Man is simply not God nor can he ever be God. To state otherwise is blasphemy and shows a lack of understanding and apprecation of what God is offering and has done (and will do) for us. I believe teachings that man can be God and those that proclaim such things greatly harm the Church, offend God and others that also believe profoundly in God as well.

Joh 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

I wonder what was the state of Jesus before He was taught by the Father? There are many questions and few answers. But given we have the eternities to learn I am not bound by the limits of our current mind. I would suggest that a study of scripture is the first place one should go when dealing with these kinds of questions.

But if we approach this issue incorrectly we will lose more than we gain.

Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
Act 8:19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
Act 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Act 8:21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

I'm sorry Tobin, but I will accept what those prophets and apostles have taught, along with the scriptures and my personal testimony.

I'd really wish you'd instead use reason, knowledge and inspiration from God instead. Commiting a sin like blasphemy is a bad course to take to understanding God and his words in the scriptures. It is only when we humble ourselves and try to truly come to terms with the Lord that we can actually learn anything.
