Re: Did we have a pre-premortal existence?
But, gdemetz, we do have a written record...one that for Christians has stood the test of time. I think you are guilty, as was Joseph Smith, of undermining that record in order to supplant it with warped and unBiblical theologies....a new Gospel if you will. Just as Smith was found guilty in a court of law for his treasure hunting and glass looking so he is found guilty in the court of scholarship and Biblical theology.

Albion, you are as blind as the dark ages heretics who believed all kinds of nonsense! I know you can understand plain English! However, when someone is spiritually blind, all the normal rules for reading comprehension seem to go out the window! If you can't understand plain simple English, and that "ye are gods and all of you are the children of the Most High" was used as a reprimand, or in other words, all of you are the children of our Heavenly Father so why don't you act like it, then there is not much hope for you!!!

There is a Hungarian saying:
Bagoly mondja verébnek, hogy nagyfejű.
The owl tells the sparrow that her head is big.

Which reference are you quoting now, gdemetz? You jump all over the place like a frog on a pogostick and carefully ignore references I give so perhaps you'll forgive me if I have lost track of exactly where in the discussion you have landed.

Humor me, gdemetz...I need a little clarification as to where exactly you are in the discussion.

OK Albion, I'll humor you. Apostate Christendom is not standing the test of time very well. That's why the LDS churches is growing much faster, and it will one day fill the earth as Daniel prophesied! You need to stop reading so much anti Mormon garbage and get on board before you miss the boat! There is a restitution of all things which apostate Christendom seems to have forgotten all about as they seem to do concerning the prophesied return of Elijah. In fact, they conveniently seem to forget about a lot of prophesies! Don't be left standing still in ignorance!

Re: Did we have a pre-premortal existence?
Well, gdemetz, you really didn't response to my request but ignoring the points of my posts seems to be normal for you. I would contend that Christianity, as taught since the time of Christ, has stood the test of time extremely well. Christ is preached in every corner of the globe and there are in excess, I believe, of 2 billion who claim the title of Christian. How does that number compare with the likely less than 5 million Mormons who have some kind of activity that keeps their membership current if only tenuously? What is that, less than one tenth of one percent of the world's population? How many of that number, in an average ward, hold the all-important worthiness document, a temple recommend? Is that figure 60%...50%...%40......I suspect likely less than 25% in the Mormon Church overall. I'd hardly call that filling the whole earth. Personally, I don't spend a lot of time on numbers but it does appear to be something that you find worthy of boasting about.
There is a wonderful passage of scripture in Roman 10:1-4 that comes to my mind as I talk with you. It is directed by Paul to the Israelites but it could so easily fit Mormonism and I do find myself substituting Mormons for Israelites when I read it. I send it with the same desire and prayer as expressed by Paul.

Albion, I am not ignoring the points of your posts. On the contrary, you keep ignoring mine. I have read so many non Mormon Christian commentaries, and so many of them support what I have said. Christs church practiced baptism by proper, and following that, the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. I have already gave you supporting evidence that it also practiced baptism for the dead. Christ and the apostles taught that salvation depends on two things; Christ's atonement and keeping the commandments, and I have also given you quotes concerning that! These are the same things that the SAINTS and the restored church are doing now! Can you show me in the Bible where the stupid evangelical alter calls were made, and where people were invited to come to the front and merely make a profession of faith to be saved?! You apostate so-called Christians have perverted the true doctrine of Christ, and turned it into a money making priestcraft where the "pastors" get rich telling the congregation that there is a false easy shortcut to salvation! That is wicked heresy!

Gosh, gdemetz, your cup seems to overflow....the only thing I think you left out is that your dad can whip my dad. I shall have a chuckle with my pastor tomorrow over your sweeping comment....who knew he was getting rich? Certainly not him.
