If I recall correctly this event was coincidently 'remembered' at a time when Joseph needed a credibility boost as leader. A bit like the First Vision, which didn't get much air play until decades after it supposedly happened, again coincidently when Joseph's tenure as leader was looking tarnished.

Joseph never had a problem making things up. Kinda sounds like a relative I know.

So, how do you explain the miracles they performed in the name of God. Were they just good magicians?

How do you know they actually happened?

As the miracles are strictly hearsay..... Why should I believe they happened?
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Well, I guess you'll have to decide if you believe the scriptures or not. I think we know where you stand on them.
