Since it is not uncommon, maybe guardian angels really do step in when directed to do so by God, because it's just not time for us to leave this earthly estate. It's not very scientific, though.

Have you noticed how hearing voices in your head is okay if the voice tells you something within a moral framework that you find acceptable. When the voices tell you to grab the wheel, that's okay. When the voices tell you to cut someone's head off, that's okay if your names Nephi. The voices in Warren Jeffs head, well everyone just 'knows' he's cuckoo.
And yet the medium of communication is ostensibly the same in all three scenario's.

Hello LittleNipper!
This did not cause me to join the LDS Church. I had already joined it back in 1974. I believe that God leads us to wherever we will be able to continue our spirit's awakening in our seeking for Truth.
You are in denial that the Bible teaches us that God continues to reveal Truth through the Holy Ghost. The Bible makes the claim by Jesus Himself that all Truth had not yet been revealed. In fact, the Apostles continued that theme by teaching only the milk understanding of the Gospel because that is all the people could handle. It is up to each individual to seek the meat understanding by asking God for it. He will know when we are ready to have it revealed to us; and He DOES so. You can have more revealed as well. But you will need to earnestly seek it and keep an opened mind so that the Holy Spirit CAN open your understanding spirit to Spirit. If your mind is closed to the possibility, God will not argue with you and take away your free agency.

That is dead-on correct. This is the BIG problem for anti-mormons, ex-mormons, and most Christian sects. If the scriptures are TRUE, then why isn't God able to speak to us NOW?!? The answer is usually that God is done talking to us, we've been bad so God doesn't want to talk to us, or they just deny the scriptures are true. It is all patently absurd since God has actually never ceased talking to us, we have just CEASED listening.

I think you are misstating/misunderstanding the orthodox position. Christians do not believe that God has stopped talking, only to prophets in the sense of the times before Christ. The fullness of God's revelation of himself and his plan of salvation is in and through Jesus. What more in that regard can God say than to reveal himself in Jesus...God incarnate? God does speak to believers through the Holy Spirit which witnesses continually of Christ to the believer for the building up of the individual and the body of believers, Christ's church.

I will assume based on the kind of answers you give and the tone that you have not given it any real thought. I am curious what you mean by the set of eyes for the voice. I did notice the voice you did assign to your mother.

The last two fit you, but then you believe God still showed up. Makes one wonder why he won't with others who are in the same state, and even worse with those who have actually spent years or decades seeking God without him showing up.

Yup.

If God wants to talk, I am more then willing to listen.

I believe that God has revealed everything man now needs to understand in order to be saved, and that everything concerning God and eternity is not now revealed. The Bible is a completed book for the present. In eternity the saved will learn whatever else God has for His elect to know and understand. And the fact is that Man is triune ---- Body, Soul, and Spirit. The fact is that Mormon's cannot even fathom a triune God and a triune man, let alone the future God has in store for those He alone has saved. So, I believe the world was created in 6 days. I believe that the Flood actually happened. I believe that the Bible is without error in its original language. I believe Jesus is God who became a human form --- both God and Man. I believe Jesus died and arose again and went home to be with the Father and sent God's Holy Spirit to commune with the spirits of His saved. I believe Christ is returning to rapture the Church. I believe that the Church will return with Christ (who will lock up Satan) reigning 1000 years. I believe at the end that Satan will be released and be totally defeated at Armageddon. The Universe will be reformed and the saved will live with God forever in a new heaven and new earth. I believe that Satan and everyone who does not know the Lord will be cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity. I feel that whatever Mormonism has to add to any of this is of no consequence.

Man and God are so complex. We don't have a clue about our self yet alone about God. What has been revealed is just the surface. If one thinks about eternity then you may get an idea just how complex it all is. I do not believe we stop learning.
