From the Church Handbook of Instruction:
The Church strongly discourages surgical sterilization as an elective form of birth control. Surgical sterilization should be considered only if (1) medical conditions seriously jeopardize life or health or (2) birth defects or serious trauma have rendered a person mentally incompetent and not responsible for his or her actions. Such conditions must be determined by competent medical judgment and in accordance with law. Even then, the persons responsible for this decision should consult with each other and with their bishop and should receive divine confirmation of their decision through prayer.

Church members who submit to, perform, arrange for, pay for, consent to, or encourage an abortion may be subject to Church discipline.

and your post proves Mittens' following assertion how?
Mittens wrote:I just pointed out Mormon Doctrine that's Mormons fail to observe or follow .

I mean, Mittens is making a broad reaching accusation and has provided no evidence to support it....though an obvious enemy of brevity, Mittens has also not provided that "evidence" in the OP.

Although born to and raised by parents who were Ashkenazi, Feynman was not only an atheist, but declined to be labelled Jewish on supposedly "ethnic" grounds. He routinely refused to be included in lists or books that classified people by race. He asked to not be included in Tina Levitan's The Laureates: Jewish Winners of the Nobel Prize, writing, "To select, for approbation the peculiar elements that come from some supposedly Jewish heredity is to open the door to all kinds of nonsense on racial theory," and adding "…at thirteen I was not only converted to other religious views, but I also stopped believing that the Jewish people are in any way 'the chosen people'".[49][50] Richard Feynman

Yes, still doesn't answer the question and point, especially when she further claims "we don't follow our teachings and doctrines".

WHAT ARE WE NOT FOLLOWING????

Do you even have any basic intelligence??? She make a bunch of quotes, and made no point. She didn't ask a question, she didn't make a claim, NOTHING, NADA. I really don't understand what's so complicated to understand about my question?

You people must live in some bigoted fantasy world for which only you all see the point, rather than actual factual reality. I'm looking at the words. She made no statement, other than quoted a bunch of quotes. Even worse, she further made less of a point when she later then says "we don't follow the quotes". What quotes? How? Where? Why? !

All those quotes were from over 30 years ago. Are there any current public statements by Church leadership or Church publication regarding the use of birth control?

From Church Handbook of Instruction #1:

17.3.15 Surgical Sterilization (Including Vasectomy)
The Church strongly discourages surgical sterilization as an elective form of birth control. Surgical sterilization should be considered only if (1) medical conditions seriously jeopardize life or health or (2) birth defects or serious trauma have rendered a person mentally incompetent and not responsible for his or her actions. Such conditions must be determined by competent medical judgment in accordance with law. Even then, the persons responsible for this decision should consult with each other and with their bishop and should receive divine confirmation other their decision through prayer

Thanks to the original post for the rather lengthy post about the church's stance on Abortion, however, did any of those prophets or apostles say "thus sayeth the Lord"? Any instances where the Lord himself has told the prophet to speak in his name on this subject? No? Peter once made certain affirmations about women and marriage which were then held as law and perpetrated throughout the Christian church based on his opinions and not confirmed by the words, "thus sayeth the Lord". To this date the Catholic priests and nuns are not allowed to get married because of it. The woman and no one else must have the God given right to choose the best course of action when she becomes pregnant. If she chooses to terminate the pregnancy that is entirely up to her and she must deal with the consequences of her decision. It is up to the state to defend her right to choose and provide her with quality health care no matter the decision. As to the fetus having life? Life as defined by the Bible is when the breath of life enters the physical body. Adam was created in body and full grown yet had no life until after his body was fully formed and the breath of life entered him. Scientifically the fetus has no neurological functions (the breath of life) until after at least 18-29 weeks and cannot survive outside the womb until 22 weeks minimum. Life therfore to me is when the fetus feels pain and can survive outside the womb since that is the Biblical and scientific definition not old men's opinions.
