The Bible is not the only source of God's communication with mankind. The beginning of the Bible represents how He communicated with ALL of humanity. Then, with the confounding of language at the Tower of Babel, we begin to lose track of His communication with all. The Bible then concentrates on the Children of Israel; and even then, when the tribes are dispersed, the communication narrows down to the specific lineage through which Christ will be born. Once Christ IS born, we only see a short time of His continuing communication with the Jews as the Gospel message which is taught BY the Jews is spread to the Gentiles.
Inasmuch as we know that God is NOT a respecter of persons, it seems strange to me that most of Christendom believes that God is now only communicating to Christians. They believe this even though the Bible itself started out telling of God's communication with ALL of mankind. Do Christians think that once God chose the House of Israel to be the lineage for the birth of His Son, that He then abandoned the rest of mankind? Actually, I don't think that most Christians even take this thought process or reasoning into consideration.
It is no coincidence that other world religions have traditions of belief which are so similar to the Bible. Their Holy Books carry many of the same ideas of the Bible. And, just like the Bible, different people would focus upon aspects of what God was communicating with them which held interest for them. Thus we will see differences in the writings. Also, just as the Bible is not inerrant, neither are any other Holy Books; because man is fallible, once oral traditions were written, the words would have altered the original intent of God's communication. Need we say more than Jesus pointed this out when He taught us that the Pharisees were teaching as doctrine the commandments of men?
Now, we can see how different peoples would focus on different teachings if we look, for instance, at how the Hindus and other eastern religions were concerned with the mystical aspects of God's communications. If we then compare this with Hebraic teachings, we find that the mysticism was saved as a higher teaching. As such, the teaching and belief in reincarnation is a common belief in many eastern religions; but only the higher levels of Hebrew Priests were taught reincarnation...leaving the general Jew in ignorance of this belief.
The biggest point of my comments is to share that I believe God never stopped communicating with all of mankind. He has always arranged for Prophets to guide and teach. Once the promised Savior came in the flesh, Jesus even mentions how He had other sheep to visit. They also needed to know that He had finally come and that the prophecies about Him had been fulfilled. The other religions may know Him by other names, but He is still the promised Messiah. Unfortunately, just as among the Jews, peoples in other religions in other parts of the world did not believe He was who He claimed to be; or they soon perverted this teaching as time marched on. And so the Gospel message still needs to be brought to the entire world in order that all mankind can hear the Good News. Messengers come from both within and without all religions; as God does not change, nor is He a respecter of persons and only allow some of mankind to continue to receive communication from Him.
I believe it is a terrible error, influenced by the adversary, for Christians to believe that they are the only ones saved. This type of exclusivity angered Christ in accordance with His teachings in the New Testament.

Thank you; that was a nice article. Isn't it interesting that the children of Israel weren't the only peoples who would quickly stray from God's teachings? It had not been that long since the flood and Noah's teachings, before God separated Abrahm from his father and other pagan worshipers.
Also, even though God knew that the Children of Israel would continually stray, He chose them anyway; as Jesus needed to be born through someone's human lineage. I have heard that some believe the Hebrews were the only peoples who WOULD crucify their Christ. The Jewish Christians (including the Apostles) had a very difficult time accepting the fact that God was not exclusively theirs. Today many Jews still think they are "better" than peoples of other religions and heritages due to their having been "chosen". I see this repeated among Christians who think they are "better" than peoples who do not accept Christ on their terms.
I also agree with the author of this article in that Replacement Theology is an incorrect interpretation and stance that is held by many Christians.
