And actually, the fact that there are so many translations of the Bible validates the validity of what the Bible actually says. The various translations are all translated mostly fom historic Hebrew text ( the New Testament being mostly Greek and Aramaic). So to proof read a translation all one needs to do is look to the source... There is no original Hebrew text for the Book of Mormon. If a Hebrew copy does exist, it is the result of translating what Joseph Smith wrote into Hebrew. As for Mormons holding to the King James Version, it seems to me that Mormons do not feel that that translation is not without error.

The Good Lord willing, we will eventually revisit this verse.
Mark 12:25 ►

When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

New Living Translation (©2007)

English Standard Version (©2001)
For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
"For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

Holman Christian Standard Bible (©2009)
For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels in heaven.

International Standard Version (©2012)
When people rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven.

NET Bible (©2006)
For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010)
For when they have arisen from the dead, they do not take wives, neither do men have wives, but they are like the Angels in Heaven.”

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
When the dead come back to life, they don't marry. Rather, they are like the angels in heaven.

King James 2000 Bible (©2003)
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels who are in heaven.

American King James Version
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

American Standard Version
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels in heaven.

Douay-Rheims Bible
For when they shall rise again from the dead, they shall neither marry, nor be married, but are as the angels in heaven.

Darby Bible Translation
For when they rise from among the dead they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels who are in the heavens.

English Revised Version
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels in heaven.

Webster's Bible Translation
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels who are in heaven.

Weymouth New Testament
For when they have risen from among the dead, men do not marry and women are not given in marriage, but they are as angels are in Heaven.

World English Bible
For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Young's Literal Translation
for when they may rise out of the dead, they neither marry nor are they given in marriage, but are as messengers who are in the heavens.

And Christian logic would tell us that if someone's faith is shrouded in false doctrine... For the Book of Mormon being "translated" so recently, there exists no original texts and there exists no copies of the original text in the original language. All the Mormons have is the word of Joseph Smith as he alone says he translated it.

You got me wrong, that is explicable - as You don't know enough about Mormonism.

The names Lucifer, Elias, and the words celestial/terrestrial are of high importance, because principles are based on them - and they don't exist most of the other Bible translations.
Without biblical background all that principles vanish into thin air.

Of course, the bases of that principles can not explained consistently in non-English translations.

The most often repeated Mormon response I have heard goes along the lines of: "Yes. No one can get married in heaven...that's why we have to do it here so that it will carry over into heaven." An amazing rational to get around scripture, I think.

So what? Clearly if people marry here for eternity, it doesn't contravene sciptures and if God honors it in the next life then what's the problem? Most Mormons also believe most Christians, such as yourself Albion, will be ministering angels in the next life and servants of the celestial beings (Mormons). So, if it is your belief that you will not be married in the next life and only attain the station of an angel, you should be perfectly content with your ultimate reward.

Not sure exactly what you are stirred up about...that the response I gave is the most often repeated response I have heard from Mormons or that I think it an amazing rational to get around scripture?

I'm not "stirred up", just pointing out to you that Mormons and Christians believe the same thing about heaven. The only difference is that Mormons will be married and have eternal progeny. In turn, Christians will be ministering angels and will have no increase. Christians will be servants of God and the married Mormons, who will be celestial beings and creating spirit children for the next world to be populated.

God's judgements are righteous. Those who are unwilling to do all that God asks receive a lesser reward because they are less intelligent than others, who are willing to follow all of God's commands. And interestingly, Christians wilil receive exactly the salvation they are seeking.
