Re: BCSpace is my favorite mopologist
Bcspace's strangely laconic posting style makes it very difficult to understand the way his thinking works.
But seems to me that the only person whom bcspace would characterize as 'racist' would be a person who felt that groups of people born with a relatively high level of skin melanin should be treated worse than groups with lower melanin levels, purely and simply because of the extra melanin.
If you use the easily detectable high melanin level to identify a group of people whose ancestors (according to your deity) did bad stuff, and then then treat them precisely as badly as the guy in the previous paragraph, you are not a racist, because it is the bad ancestral stuff and not the melanin in itself that provokes your discriminatory behavior.
That is a pretty eccentric usage of the term 'racism', clearly crafted with the sole purpose of being able to find a way of saying that the priesthood ban on black males was not (in bcpace's special sense only, of course) 'racist'.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

The church banned males of only one race, hence raciest. If the 12 year old black boy before 1978 asks the bishop why he is not going to be made a deacon like his white and Asian friends he will be told because of his race.

Bcspace's arguments and assertions provide a perfect proving ground for this forum. However, in a general public forum it would be unwise to take those positions, lest readers think that we Mormons are incapable of either telling or appreciating the truth. Bc knows that you are all knowledgeable sophisticates familiar with the nature of apologetics and not the general public.

BCSpace is near the top of my short list of favorite LDS apologists too!
BUT - it freaking drives me crazy that he always uses the quote feature without ever showing who authored the quote he is quoting and/or engaging with.
Drives me nuts and it is very frustrating when you're trying to follow an evolving conversation/discussion in the middle of a thread.
I have no idea why he continues to do this?!
Peace,

Probably because he doesn't want to admit he wasn't smart enough to to figure it out until after others brought it up. This kind of behavior is fairly obvious in his posts.

I've asked the guy, twice in a post, and once through pm. He never responded to any of the three requests. He is just an asshole. It is that simple.
I detest my loose style and my libertine sentiments. I thank God, who has removed from my eyes the veil...

How nice to see the tradition of Lying for the Lord still being honored.

I think BC likes to leave off names in quotes because it's annoying to everyone else. He takes a little evil joy in doing that. I'm sure he is quite bright enough to know how to put the names in there.
It's a little like his claiming victory and leaving the discussion when he is proved wrong. He does it for fun.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

There is a Hungarian saying about this type:
