Is this not a forum open to more than a select, recursive few? Why would less conversation be better? I'm kind of a John Stuart Mill/Justice Brandeis guy on this point. More speech is the remedy to bad speech. I question the agenda of anyone advocating less speech. That won't happen unless there is an agenda, typically.

Tell me more. Trying not to read into your chilling greeting more than I should. I assume I'd dig many/most of you, and would love to engage even those I call out for the misogyny. Engagement is the answer, not more shaming/shutting up. I'm not manichaean in my approach, and know clearly that I'm at least as flawed as anyone here.

I did not follow what has happened on NOM over the last few months, but have followed it here to a larger extent, in reference to Mayan stalking JD's name appearing in the boards various threads and tirelessly spamming those threads with attacks against JD.

The second this OP was dropped, Mayan's responses were predictable by anyone who has followed this for any length of time (JD bashing time ... again) The real surprise was the Glen Close appearance of Rosebud making strong accusations and issuing threats against JD.

So we have several recent months of a few individuals internet stalking and bashing JD via anyone/everyone who mentions/has some involvement in JD (i.e. peggy stack being bashed for and in behalf of jd) and low and behold ... JD shows up and calls BS.

Now he is the nasty, white rattlesnake narcissistic master planner who's trap has now been sprung.

The actions of three or four individuals so incredibly hurt by something JD has done to them ... (what 2 years back now or more) just get stranger and stranger ...

I like how you don't include what narcissists do when you quote me. Otherwise it might be obvious that indeed it describes JD to a T. I am not coming in out of the blue. I have been a member of the community for a very long time. I have not been hurt by something JD did to me, but I have been able to see clearly that we are dealing with a narcissist very good at getting others to be nasty for him, and I have seen the hurt he inflicts with his helpful advice to others that they think is all for them. If you don't believe that he is capable of this, you have not been looking at JD with honesty. In every instance he has power to, JD quashes threads and silences anyone who points out what he is doing. Here, he can not do that.

Go back and read this very thread. JD himself is the first person to suggest that Rosebud needs professional help, and lo and behold, suddenly you have multiple people jumping in to repeat after JD that Rosebud seems to need professional help. Then JD suggested that Mayan Elephant and Equality were "stalkers" and "obsessing" over him, and lo and behold, suddenly we have multiple people jumping in to repeat after JD that ME and Equality are stalkerish and obsessive. The cries never end: JUST LEAVE BRITNEY SPEARS ALONE!!!

As a fun exercise, go ahead and read back on this thread how many of JD's posts are him referring to himself in the third person. I can only imagine how well this tactic has worked to get people to repeat exactly what he wants them to repeat for and on behalf of JD.

Yeah. That is kind of how I see it.

I enjoy discussion with Mayan. The Rosebud involvement, here and on NOM, has been terribly tedious and troubling in my opinion.

What I find more tedious are the people who only post to say how tedious they find the discussion. What is the point of that, I wonder? I guess maybe it's a way to say "move on, move on, nothing to see here." Seems to me the truly tedious threads get few posts and few views. The interesting ones generate lots of posts and lots of views. How does this one fare on that basis?

As for narcissism, if JD is a narcissist the abandonment of this thread will not affect that condition in the least. He will suffer from it whether we talk about him or not. But perhaps talking about it will serve as a warning to those who cross his path.

Most of the slander and over the top criticism came from Rosebud, both in this thread and multiple threads at NOM.
